Yeah, a friend of mine in Calgary has been complaining about the crap weather lately. By contrast, here in SoOnt we've had 28C+ lately. Impossible to wear jackets now, even a thin windcheater feels like a parka.
Nice fitting jacket with some interesting details. I particularly like the almost-vertical pockets which give the jacket a 'vertical' appearance.
I've never done this, but my instinct tells me to make sure the mix is mostly water...
Safari jackets are odd things: some people like them and look good in them, others the complete opposite. Get an affordable one first, used of the bay or someplace, or one of those TAG ones, to see if you like it and look good in it. Then you can get a posh one. But to be honest, they're just...
They haven't for a long time, which is a shame. I have one I picked up a few years ago (used), I've never worn it, but it's a solid thing that no doubt survive a trip to hell and back!

The jacket is purrrrfect, my boyfriend looks so cool. Thank you!
I think the fit is great. It's what I would want: snug around the waist, roomy up top for movement. It's how motorcycle jackets in old photos from decades ago fitted. Pay no attention to the it should fit like a sausage crowd here, lol
You're right about its status in American clothing culture...
