Dakota Outerwear current spec A-2. Still some snow from Friday's blizzard. It's Sunday which means I don't shave and I don't wear slim fitting pants, lol
Sometime last night it started snowing and in less than 12 hours we got about 5 inches of really heavy, wet snow. No chance of getting out of the driveway today, although about 15 minutes drive away they got almost nothing. Here's some pics taken first thing this morning. It will all melt...
Oh yes, my mistake about the new/vintage thing. Sounds like a great deal. Hopefully it gives you years of service.
We've all run across that jacket that was perfect except the sleeves were too short! For me it was a vintage custom made flannel blazer which was stunning and fit well, except the...
The size tags on those older jackets are not reliable so who knows. These jackets fit wide and short, i.e. big chest sizes, short torso. The sleeves are a generous length, though. They're made to go with matching insulated overalls and over several layers. It's hit or miss. If it doesn't fit...
^ That's a nice shirt, tie, and sports jacket colour/pattern combination! Too bad we can't see the whole coat, but some of the older London Fog stuff was really nice.
For what it's worth, from what I've seen -- and I'm not expert -- the way the belt is sewn into the seams is rather unique: note how it's sewn into the side seam facing towards the back, but then rolled back over itself to be threaded through the loops in the front of the jacket. Hopefully...
^ That's a nice jacket. The belt buckle looks wrong for Schott, so too does the shape of the lapels, and the belt is mounted a bit too high for vintage Schott. The challenge is, if you go back to the 50s and 60s you'll find tons of perfecto-style jackets made by a wide variety of companies, most...
Yeah, I know. I'm beginning to think Michael is living in an alternate universe and he's somehow bleeding through into our much-much-higher-priced universe...
I think I know the brown leather jackets which you bought, they've been selling something unchanged for several years. They seem like a good solid value jacket, if a bit unexciting. Looking forward to pics.
^ amazing...

Here's a pic re Lewis Leathers, I'm not sure if it's a book or advertisement or something. How's that for fitted!
Nice to see those ulsters and polo coats, guys.
Here's a herringbone tweed inverness cape (I couldn't find a dedicated thread). The man is the historian John Julius Norwich.
^ as Treetopflyer says... incidentally, you also see this on British Guards overcoats, although they don't have a nice little flap like on this bridge coat.
Funny how members are reporting that leather jacket's aren't coveted that much anymore. In the 80s and 90s it was a much different story and he/she who had a nice leather jacket was envied.
I have a female friend who says that used clothing is "dead people's clothes" and refuses to wear...
Below are pics of the jacket as worn by Brosnan in the film. I'm considering the Wested version, which isn't a 100% copy but it's close enough. Wested couldn't provide me with measurements but said these are not in-stock jackets which means they make them to order and can make longer sleeves if...
