STOP IT LADY DAY!!!! :o
Anyway, Woodland got back to me. The patterns are ALL MINE!
Kay Francis. Drool! Just my style, too.
I was delighted to find this earlier 30s pattern in my size! They all seem to have a 32 inch bust or some number my bust will never see.
I love...
I'll try to sit tight!! It won't be easy due to the fabulousness of the 5 patterns, but I'll be patient :o
Meanwhile, I bought these:

I already know I'm going to look like a sack of potatoes in this, but I would like a few dresses from the 1910s and 1920s just to *have* them! :)
Darn you!!! I just put in requests for 5 patterns!! 3 Hollywood patterns, which I've been DYING to own. One Hollywood pattern is of one of my absolute favourite actresses, too! We shall see!
Are they pretty fast at responding?? I'm wiggling in my work seat here...:O
It would be impossible for me to be a purist, but here are a couple of things I get a kick out of:
I'm sewing my own clothes now from 30s and 40s patterns. I get a kick out of having to "work" to get them on!! No cheap elastic there!
I was also very disheartened when they recently...
I don't like that kind of stuff either, but what can ya do [huh]
I like this:
"a great (and sentimental) way to preserve an original and rare vintage pattern - envelope, directions, and pattern pieces."
What's wrong with *making* what's on the pattern? No better way to preserve it than...
Here's the back pleat blouse I made tonight...
It's not the best -- I never made a blouse before. I was a bit confused with the collar, but I managed to hide most of my mistakes!! Also, this top fits me perfectly except across the boobs. I have that problem a lot and I hate it (I...
I love that sweater! Back pleats = SO INCREDIBLY 30s!! I'm currently making a 30s blouse with a back pleat. They are lovely. This sweater would look so great with a trumpet skirt, some cute white sockies and white "old lady" oxfords.
They're all pretty awesome. The brown one is my fave! I love rounded collars and BUTTONS!!!
What I made yesterday.
Here's the detail -- again, it's not really wonky, I just have a habit of standing very awkwardly in photos.

I like it so much I bought some "nice"...
Thanks girls! I've been sewing now since September -- so 3 months! I've only had two very informal lessons from my seamstress friend Heathyr and the book Sewing For Dummies to show me the way. Everything else I figured out on my own by doing it EVERY SINGLE DAY and messing up a lot!
I'm...
I feel the same as Grant Fan. You need the confidence and a sense of humour about yourself and you'll do just fine. Not only that, but I also think it makes the bearer very sexy! Nothing is more unattractive to me than people getting on their vintage high-horses when someone looks at them...

They make me look short!
The buttons are navy blue with cute gold anchors on them.
And the pant legs aren't uneven -- it's just the way I'm standing ;)
They're quite a learning experience!! I'll post them on here when they're done.
I also just bought this on my lunchbreak because I am weak. Weak for buttons. WEAK.
I waited for this for a month from Past Patterns. OMG I LOVE IT! This is exactly the style I like -- 30s/sporty/feminine/college-y. I might be too old for it, but I could care less!
And I got this at that EVIL store Jo-Ann's. EVIL, I tell ya! Good thing this was the only retro pattern...
My vintage movie magazines are going to my husband. Since he isn't a 10s/20s/30s/40s movie freak like I am, he has told me flat out he's going to sell them. Thus putting them in the hands of other collectors who will cherish them like I do.
Nope.
I eat sushi, curry, cereal, Silk Milk, and Starbucks. Besides cereal, I don't think any of this was around in the 30s (or at least not widely available!)
