All I Got...
Maybe these look familiar?
Haven't gotten it in the mail yet -- late 1930s sports skirt!
Haven't gotten this in the mail yet, either. Just bought it today.
And I have some repros from EvaDress:
1935 German sundress
1934 "Lounging" attire. I LOVE 30s...
:eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap Ladies! One day I'll be as good as you all are! ONE DAY!! There's not a day that's gone by over the past two months where I haven't sewn a little SOMETHING and I am getting slowly better!
From a 1952 pattern. A party exploded on me. It came with a...
My husband bought a jacket that looks almost exactly like this http://www.eluxury.com/estore/browse/product_detail.jsp?id=12135834, only he paid $3 for it in a Goodwill out in the middle of nowhere lol lol lol
Ah yes - the Interfacing! That's exactly where it was puckering most -- where the interfacing was meant to be. I think i'm ready to start using it. I learn something new about sewing everyday! And thanks about the apron :)
lol lol lol
It's supposed to be this: http://www.evadress.com/6222.html
Really, I only made this for practice. I don't intend to ever wear it other than a nightgown. I used really cheap fabric and it was awful to work with so I have a lot of crooked seams and bunching. Other than that, I...
Thanks gals! I made another apron -- I made it reversible! I'm also trying to put together a pattern from Eva Dress from 1935. If it comes out ok, I'm going to use it as a nightgown because I'm not using any Interfacing in it.
Hopefully one day I'll be as good as the ladies here!! I'm just a beginner, go easy on me:
The waist band's a bit wonky and the hem is a bit "rolled" -- lol I'm going to unpick the hem and fix it this weekend. It's from a pattern from 1940.
Apron from a 50s pattern. As you can...
I often feel like "Herman Munster" in modern clothes!! The arms are always too short, the buttons at the bust always pull, and the short-sleeved shirts are always just a bit too snug around my upper arm. But if I go a size bigger, it's ALWAYS TOO BIG!!! And, well, there goes that potato sack...
The 20s and early 30s are my very favourite time periods, but, unfortunately, I feel I do not look good in the dresses from that era. My measurements are 38-30-38 and I'm 5'7" -- I'm a "Jane Russell" type, I guess. Because I have a larger bust, the 20s dresses make the dress stick out more...
I love them all! 20s and early 30s are so beautiful to look at, but I don't wear them because I know I'll look like a sack of potatoes
I've recently began to sew my own clothes and I'm finding that patterns from the late 30s and early 40s suit my body type most. And, of...
My favourite name is Lillian. That was my grandmother's name (1901-1972). I also had an Aunt Lillian on my mom's side. She died when I was 10 years old, but I hear stories about how fascinating she was. She never married, never had kids, traveled the world, and had all kinds of expensive...

Yea, my hubby is a bit of a Star Wars nerd, too! He told me all baout that symbol and what it was, but I just remember "Bobafet" lol
And thanks! Thanks to everyone else, too! I haven't even shown my pinup girl yet -- which is on the same arm!!!
My husband says it has something to do with Bobafet from Star Wars....
I got a new tattoo on Saturday....
The original image...
From one of my dad's old comic books!
My local antique shops are filled to the brim with wonderfullness. I ALWAYS just go to browse and end up buying something for mega-cheap: $100 for a 1941 art moderne buffet, $35 for a 1934 Philco radio, $30 for a set of yellow 1950s kitchen chairs. I once walked away with tons of sheet music...
