The top jacket is much nicer.
Multiple Loungers own it so you’re almost certainly going to find it in the Classifieds soon, worn once (to take photos in an arrivals thread).
I think a frequent point made about CXL, that it’s a great shoe shoe leather more then a garment leather, might be truer for Badalassi. You wouldn’t have that kind of friction in a pair of shoes or boots.
No thanks. A few influencers (and would-be ones) have made accounts here but I’d hardly call them Loungers. They just come on here and link their clickbait videos.
I think they’re great boots, like basically everything mentioned in the discussion.
But I’m sure you’d agree that none of the American work boot brands have Nike level universal recognition by the public, as RMW does in Australia. We really don’t have an equivalent to that.
For Britain, I...
While I know Bruce Lee's family unfortunately treats his name like a business, as an Asian man who wears leather jackets I have to admit the Vanson repro of Bruce Lee's cafe racer grabbed my attention.
I don't think Chippewa's construction is bad, rather that what jumps out about RMW is that they use materials in a way that even much more expensive brands don't. It's honestly a bit weird, but in a nice way. Wholecuts aren't the default for any leather good because of the sheer cost, but they...
I completely disagree, unless you mean the sort of sneaker-style gardening shoes (which I got for cheap online). The construction of RMWs is excellent, the wholecut-only approach (even on cheaper models!) is basically unheard of, and if you want top tier finishing, their "Signature" MTO boots...
I'd recommend putting CHP in the title; I clicked here out of curiosity but I bet there are a ton of people looking for a nice size 40 CHP and don't know one of Vanson's versions is called the Bandit!
No need, that's exactly the type of hanger I was thinking of when I asked.
I have a few of these from my Schott factory visits and they work extremely well.
I don't think there is such a thing, but I expect people would say Red Wing Iron Rangers or Alden Indy boots because each has quite an online following.
Personally I think more than a specific maker it would be a kind of shoe, such as shell cordovan longwings.
But none of the above would be...
There are not many Chelsea boots better than RM Williams. I would go so far as to say that the dressy RMWs go toe-to-toe with the John Lobb equivalent.
What kinds of hangars do you guys usually attach noodles to, and how? I would imagine those kind of stiff but flat shirt hangers, so they're substantial enough but not preshaped?
This one (WWL-41) is basically vintage (except Buco) sizing, meaning chest measurement + 2 inches = label, so I couldn’t comfortably fit into my normal size. I think this is because the jacket is primarily sold in the Japanese market. So the 44 is 23” pit to pit. Quite a slim fit although the...
There may be someone local who does such work, like in Virginia there's Bedo's Leatherworks.
Otherwise there are options like Johnson in SF, Dena (Great Leather) in Illinois (though she's taking a break right now due to arm issues I believe; I pray she recovers soon), Zoltan in Berkeley, and...
I'm not saying that Aero or Eastman are messing up the contracts.
My point was more that I consider the quality of both of their repros to be on par, so you should decide more based on which one has the model you want.
So if you were dead set on a Werber B-3 repro, your choices would be...
