The comments on this seller (usarmyboots) were well over 99% positive. FedEx has the jacket now. I strongly suspect that my B-15 will go straight back also.
Yes, it would appear that this jacket (s) may have been a lot of seconds that were sold off for real cheap. Ended up on the Bay. Then in my house...but not for long!
You are correct, this is one really bad example. Unfortunately, this is my only exposure to USA made Alphas. So they have a long ways to go before I change my mind as to their quality. This jacket should NEVER have left the manufacturing facility, and this is evidence of their complete lack of...
These pictures tell the story of Alpha Industries. In fact, a third world Mexican sweat shop working in a back alley in Progresso could probably do just as good, maybe even better.
Let this be a warning to all of you Alpha fans...and you know who you are!
OK...note the stitching, the seams that are not straight, loose threads, DEEP wrinkles. Had the jacket on a hanger over night. These wrinkles a perma-pressed in. They are here to stay!
As I stated elsewhere, a better quality jacket can be purchased from a third world street vendor in Mexico! This jacket is going back today. Yup, got off Ebay...never again! It has all the correct "Made in Knoxville TN" tags. What a disgrace for Alpha. If I did my job with the same quality that...
Yup, bought this off Ebay. Never again! In the future will only buy a jacket off the rack, at a local store. One that can be seen, felt, and tried on first. The wrinkles in this are so "perma pressed" that they will likely never come out. The jacket looks terrible.
I expected "Gibson & Barnes"...
Alpha MA-1, made in Knoxville, arrived today...

And that is the good news! This jacket has...
Noticed there are a number of non-leather jackets (flight satin) that are sporting numerous wrinkles. Is there an easy and safe way to get these wrinkles out? Perhaps these are caused by packaging and transportation. Will they "fall out" after being left on a clothes hanger?
Who makes the best satin B-15? Cockpit also makes a leather version. I will guess Alpha as they were an original supplier to the US military.
Following are pics to help some of you out.
A fellow pilot friend of mine has just ordered a G&B Civil A-2 based on my recommendation. He had them send a jacket for "sizing only", and he has returned the coat and is waiting on his brown goatskin jacket to be made. The folks at G&B are very helpful in this regard!
Like he said, it is not...
