That has also been my experience.
IMO waxed canvas clothes are basically a sweat suite.
They are fine if you are standing in the rain doing nothing, but if you start getting warm hell begins, you end up stewing in your juice in no time.
I also find them less waterproof in the long run than good...
After your first message where you offered me a remake i got in touch with Parker.
I told him i didn't start all this because i wanted a remake, but because i wanted to be honest and show people what my jacket was really like.
I also said i was happy to return my jacket for a remake as long as i...
"Hopefully Parker and David can chime in here, but in the meantime, the action required from Himel Bros required to satisfy this forum escapes me."
How can things be "perfectly clear" and "escape you" at the same time...
The actions required to satisfy this forum are pretty clear, make new...
I will repeat myself.
I was offered a remake, but i had to pay for all import taxes and return shipping.
Why would i be expected to sink another 500$-800$ to get a well stitched jacket when i already paid 2700$ for what was supposed to be a well stitched jacket?
Let say you buy a brand new...
I would start a new thead.
If you add your pics to “An error doesn’t become a mistake until you refuse to correct it” they will never come up in search results in google or on tfl search.
I don't want to reopen this tin of worms, don't feel like you have to respond, i just want the reason why i didn't go for a remake to be somewhere and my Chevalier thread is still locked.
My problem with their answer was that it assumed i would be ok spending more money on that jacket to get it...
Interrestingly, my review of the Chevalier was also removed from the Himel website without me having asked anything.
The Himel website mentioned the review in question was originally posted on TFL, so anybody seeing it on the Himel website could have come to TFL and seen the updated pic version...
I went D pocket and no chest pocket on my bootlegger, no zipper on handwarmer, no inside pocket.
I am happy with that configuration, wouldn't change it.
That looks good, i would love a vintage LL but as you say, sleeves are often very short.
Watch out, keeping jackets you can't wear is a slippery slope...
I don't really have hard data to back this up, but i think that "tubular body from the pits down" thing is pretty common in japanese patterns. It looks like the average japanese man is shaped like a rectangle rather than the inverted triangle V we take for granted in other parts of the world.
My...
Yep, i wear mine loads, it's one of my favourite winter jackets.
I do notice that people stare at it sometimes, and i have had someone shout "WTF, that's pretty rustic looking!" in the center of London.
Damn, i'm happy you got a perfect grizzly, but i'm also sad that @torfjord is now Grizzly less...
What happened, i thought you where a full time grizzly convert?
What will you wear when we do a Grizzly only meetup next year?
That's as good a fit as you could expect from a custom jacket, it's really super nice.
I also think it really suits you, IMO you definitely look naturally cool in this, it's not forced.
IMO this and the LW J-23 are the best two of your list and you nailed it with this one, not sure a LW would...
