You should give ELMC a go, i am 188cm and 80kg and the Californian and Windward fit me really well.
Langlitz is also one of my favourite, a Columbia is a really nice jacket if you want a comfortable understated cross zip.
You've created a problem for yourself, you started with a really really good jacket.
A lot of the jackets you will try in the future will not feel as good...
I guess it's a good thing if you where planning on being a one jacket guy.
Here is russet HH, white balanced pics, so the colour is as close to real life as can be. I don't think there is much variation batch to batch, i would attribute differences to photography.
Few more outside pics on there...
I would remove at least 1" from the body, maybe a bit more.
IMO these jacket should be short, reaching around mid belt.
Actually, i would ask for -1.25" in the body to make sure i had at least 1" less.
Arms are fine, 0.25" won't make any difference.
Bit of a good news/bad news situation with this one.
Good news, the coat isn't actually size 44 but 42!
Since buying it i had been worrying it would be too big, but it is tagged 42 and IMO fits like a 42.
Perfect fit!
Bad news, all the buttons have been changed and are unmatching...
Literally...
My bad, i misunderstood.
In that case i would not bother with a snap on a jacket with as little overlap as the cascade or the portland.
That snap makes sens on the LT/B because there is a very wide overlap, the zipper is almost on the side of your body and that leaves a huge lapel floping around...
Do you actually bother moving the snap-on cover around?
Mine lives on this button, so i can snap and unsnap the lapel without faffing.
I felt it was a good compromise since i don't need to close that snap when the jacket is closed as it is just next to the zipper.
I have one Johnson Leathers, it is a copy of a Langlitz Columbia, if someone had told me it was made by Langlitz i would have believed it, if not for the label it looks just like a Langlitz.
Langlitz:
Johnson:
Both jackets are just as well made, fit just as well, and offer the same...
Pretty sure that before her death Gail actually commented on that and said there was no mention of Schott ever purchasing Durable in any of the Schott paper trail.
In my experience this bag is hard to beat:
https://www.varusteleka.com/en/product/savotta-jaakari-s-backpack/55400
It's super basic, but tough as hell, for less than half the price of the Filson it is IMO a no brainer.
I also got these pads to go with it and i like them...
I did not make a claim, i said "There are rumors that say these jackets are made in Pakistan"...
I know about these rumors and i am trying to find clues on the matter, that's very far from claiming they are made in Pakistan!
The collar is completely wrong!
The original has almos a 90 degree angle between the points, the BK is closer to 45 degrees.
Also square epaulettes vs pointy ones...
Looks to me like they don't have an original and their "copy" is very loosly based on the Durable.
There are rumors that say...
It's a complete gamble.
I bougth two jackets from Japan, this LaBrea and this SanMateo:
https://www.thefedoralounge.com/threads/fs-freewheelers-san-mateo-peters-aviator-jacket.97651/
According to the measurements the SanMateo shoudl have fit me, it didn't.
I contacted the shop asking if they...
Quick google, annual precipitation in Brussels is 820mm, Dublin is 750mm, London 580mm... (average in Wales is 840)
I guess we Belgians are pretty used to the rain.
Personally i have tried waxed canvas, cotton gabardine and more modern solutions (K-way, Gore-tex), and i pick good quality chrome...
Cheers.
I didn't post that to try to come out as more noble than i am, i just don't want people to think i am refusing to pay customs on a Himel remake because i am a cheap stingy ba***rd.
I was also apparently Greg's (Field Leathers) first and only customer who insisted on paying for the "free"...
This is exactly 100% what Norshore leather did for me.
I ordered a jacket from him, he made it but was unhappy about the way he had stitched the collar.
He had tried "a new way" and wasn't 100% satisfied with the result.
He sent me pics, showing what he was unhappy about and offered to either...
