Hi, Kevin,
I'm 5'10" and weigh about 240 lbs (110 K) and the Flight Suits A-2s and G-1s fit fine.
They're made a little large - the 46 measures 28" armpit to armpit and 24" at the waist just above the wool waistband.
I'm long waisted and wear a long body and regular length arms - to give you...
Pictures speak thousands of words - how about posting some.

That veg tanned russet A-2 from FS is a really nice jacket - no break in - just buttery smooth right out of the box.
If they make one for you - you can request grainy hides along with tan thread - gives it an old look from the start.

FS A-2 fit
Thanks, Technonut,
The fit is superb especially the way the shoulders square up without any shoulder droop.
I tried mine on last evening - hadn't worn it since December (been wearing the M-422a) - and it's fit is the same as yours - could have sworn the arms were loose and...
Hi, Technonut,
Great looking jackets - the mahogany shows the same as the one I have.
Two things that I've noticed on yours is that the diameter of the armhole and arms seems smaller making the jacket look very authentic.
Could you do a pic with your arms straight out sideways to show how the...
Hi, Randy,
I have both the FS historical goat and horse hide A-2.
The goat is a vegetable tan russet that took almost no wearing to break in - the color is supposed to be quite close to the RW 18091 original color.
The horsehide is their mahogany which would be equivalent to the seal...
Hi, fedoralover,
That jacket is a super fit.
As one of the previous posters said have the arms shortened 1/2" to 3/4" to give the jacket an even better drape.
One thing I did notice is the collar seems much lower on your right side as compared to your left side - maybe it's the way...
Irvin repro
Hi, Tim,
Any jacket that is too short no matter how warmly it is built will get left behind in favor of something that will cover your lower back.
Look for an Irvin type look-a-like sheepskin jacket in a longer length - it'll be worn all the time.
Another thing to...
Hi, Colin,
Congratulations on the new jacket.
I'll reiterate what NSG has said - the repro makers could do lots better using pics of actual buyers to present their jackets. Both you and the dog make good models.
The front and back poses are great to display the jacket. Especially like...
G-1 jackets
Hi, Kojax,
I just looked at the website for Flight Suits and their modern day G-1 is $308.00 as opposed to $369.00 from US A.
My preference would be FS especially as they honor the web site price instead of ordering by phone where they use the $100.00 more catalog price...
Hi, The Wingnut,
When you give your second pic a quick glance it shows two WWII airmen wearing identical uniforms.
It's only when you start a close examination that the differences start to appear. The average person coming to a re-enactors outing isn't going to get close enough to tell...
Hi, pioneercmt,
Once you have it cleaned try ScothGuarding it - that may keep the collar cleaner longer.
Then maybe once a month - give it a cleaning and repeat SG.

Hi, NSG,
There doesn't seem to be any set rule for jacket length.
What I have found the works best for me is to have the leather in the torso come to about 1" below the bottom of your belt with the jacket open and your arms down by your side.
So if you wear high waisted pants then...
Hi, Spad,
I agree with you as to the usefulness of the jacket especially for the price.
One thing I have found is that they aren't really very warm in cold weather. It doesn't take long for a chill to get through the leather and thin cotton lining.
I would look at having a thinsulate...
Hi, MJCR and everyone else,
I've had a few dealings with Mr. Dover and found him to be terse but polite and informative.
Being a small owner operation it is a lesson a lot of the larger manufacturers could use. He's busy but available.
Based on his courtesy, I'd deal with him anytime...
Pakistani A-2
Hi, Harp,
Could you give some more info about these pakistani A-2s - I hear about them but know nothing of them or where they could be purchased.
Also pics if possible
