A pair of beautiful jackets, well done! Yes I think it's 1950's, it's got a 50's rectangular pull Talon main zip (thank you Dinerman for your excellent guide) which looks to be original and two Aero pocket zips.
I've seen threads on TFL discussing the original Windward and of course the Aero Leathers remake, but this is the first Cooper I've seen. As you can see it has a yoke unlike the above types. It's nicely scuffed but a bit dry so I'll probably give it a quick bit of tlc before I wear it...
Do a quick search on eBay for goatskin A2 jacket or LL Bean A2 leather jacket and then check out sold and completed items and you should find the price of a similar jacket that's sold recently.
Now what makes you think it's Chinese. It's labelled made in Romania - surely it'd say made in England or UK if it was hookey? It's a good quality jacket fully labelled well made from good quality materials etc etc. The last two photos are the most representative - taken in daylight with a...
I realize that Aero zips don't mean made by Aero Leather but its an interesting jacket nevertheless. The zip out liner and belt are missing but it's a tempting buy. http://s1258.photobucket.com/user/robrinay/library/Unknown%20Leather%20with%20Aero%20zips
I'm wary of posting those lengths as your body length will be important as regards the actual length of your jacket.
Anyway so long as you bear that in mind in your discussions with Johnsons, the front is 29" from top of collar to bottom point of front panels and the back length is 24" from top...
Just bought a nearly new second hand Vanson Comet on Gumtree for £150 - waiting for delivery - I'll let you know what it's like when it arrives. I've had a few bargains from Gumtree and driven to pay for them and pick them up - but I hear it's not as safe a buying environment as eBay - at least...
They do sell a few bits on line - t shirts etc. and rusty lamps but they also sell more interesting stuff on eBay - perhaps its easier to have an eBay store?

With regard to the makers of his jackets I suspect they didn't have labels as on the...
I know what you mean - my Highwayman is a 44" and fits 'comfortably' but then that's the designed fit so I'm content. There is a horsehide 46" Vanson Ike on eBay with nearly identical measurements which is very tempting but whereas the Highwayman is a 'boxy' design the Ike needs to fit more...
Ah - so its a #125 not a #615.

Which means my old one was also a #125 - every day is a school day!
I usually take a 44" chest and I'm 6'1" tall but my G and B civilian G1 fits perfectly - its a size 40 R. As suggested above check the measurements of whichever G and B you order against a well fitting jacket you already own.
