Don't try to fix it thats ALs responsibilty and if you tamper with it you will undermine your legal rights. It's been pressed under a significant weight - perhaps driven over by a vehicle - that's the only way in my opinion a zipper could make that kind of impression in any leather. It may have...
Lynden the seller has listed it as a highwayman - flying jacket but I'm sure its an NYPD Patrolmans jacket - and an early one too. One penny start price!

Well the label looks correct but the jacket is very West German biker 1980's with plaited leather adornments.

Condolences and empathy to you and yours. My dad (Roy) passed away Christmas 2003. A couple of weeks ago my mum tidied his wardrobe and found an unopened bottle of Blair Athol 8 year old single malt. Here's a toast with it to your dad and mine for supplying the water of life.
Cheers
Robert

Here are a few of my finds - a Norwegian sheath knife by S&S Helle - old label, a Sheffield made William Rogers sheath knife with an unusual stag horn handle - now trimmed to make it less awkward. It's original sheath had turned to hard tack - the new hide sheath cost me £5 from a bloke who has...
The snaps - fasteners on this Brooks look to be a similar pattern but are tarnished so if not a Schott, it may be a Brooks. EBay item no 361071976409
Sorry I couldn't paste a link but when I try it pastes the last link I copied to TFL not the correct one
Its hard to tell as the definition of the picture is low but it might be a Schott multipanel racer. Himel brothers have had them in their used section over the years. Schott US made them in the 50s and 60s and Schott Europe re-released them more recently. Lesco made a very similar jacket and all...
