It was Luftwaffe ace Adolf Galland who wore a captured British RAF Irvin jacket in WWII; there were also photos of other Luftwaffe pilots wearing captured American A-2 and B-3 jackets later in the war.
The Aero is a basic reproduction and not based on a specific M-422 WWII contract such as Willis and Geiger or Gordon and Ferguson (WWII G&F jackets were known for their wider left pocket and the salmon red lining). Bill Kelso, Eastman and Goodwear all make much better/more accurate reproductions...

According to "FilmJackets.com" the jacket is made by Diesel; it's their M-15 bomber jacket (with a few minor modifications to set it apart from their off-the-rack standard model).
I had a Schott 689HH with that same bi-swing back and it works very well; gives extra freedom of movement and no chance of an errant "bat-wing" effect.
In "Hell bent for leather", the authors state that one of MacArthur's A-2 jackets was stolen from the MacArthur Memorial in the early 1970's. First a theft, then a sale. Hopefully Mac had lots of A-2 jackets and at least one or two are on public display somewhere.
