Drastically different from an oil-pull Aero A-2 I had about 7 or 8 years ago. Mine looked more like the one in their website photos.
And I agree with Eggleman; I also have a sample of AL Mongolian HH which this Aero hide closely resembles.
From Eastman product expansion to Hell's Angels to Quentin Crisp; now that's what I call thread deviation (no pun intended). Deviation (as used here) is a term in marine navigation where a magnetic compass deviates from an intended true course heading due to magnetic interference.
TFL is always...
Pre-distressed/ripped jeans. Rubber "mud" splatter. In a world of "instant vintage", where does the rapid distressing/color-losing Horween CXL leather fit in? Or Eastman's Time-worn finish?
As long as they don't go down the same path as Avirex (and I suspect that they won't). Once Avirex branched out and got away from their military themed clothing, it was the "kiss of death". They weren't the most accurate repro makers, but they had a thriving business and did have some cool...
Sleeves look good; most folks never use those leather hanger tabs (even when sewn thru the leather). They use a wood hanger or just drape the jacket over a chair or on the sofa (or the floor? LOL).
If yours is only sewn thru the nylon/rayon lining, it's only a matter of time before it rips...
Nice looking jacket; checked on-line and list price is $1741. Hope that jacket is all that you want it to be. Good luck with the break-in (that's half the fun!).
That Air Comfort design is kind of a cross between the A-2, the G-1 and the B-15; alot of military fliers would've loved it had it been a military-issue garment (call it the AN-J-5!).
Good point Edward; some jacket patterns just don't lend themselves to certain body types/physiques. I suppose that's the biggest drawback to buying a leather jacket (even one that's custom-made) on-line with no try-on.
The jacket's shoulder point (where top of sleeve meets body) squares up nicely on you. If you go a size up, the shoulder point will be wider and you'll get a slightly off-the-shoulder (and less fitted) look. Just something to consider when sizing up in a jacket.
NICE looking jacket!
