I placed an order for a custom Simmons-Bilt this week. Under $900 delivered, with the hardware, lining and Horween horse hide of my choice and customized arm and body length. It's not completely made to your size, but pretty close.
The TS-GB looks nice, but I'd suggest spending a little bit...
I have a pair of Australian army black GP boots I was issued, that I've hardly worn in the past 30 years. I also left with several other pairs in the later issued 'baby poo mustard' colour that we got after switching to DPCU camo uniforms. I wore those out hiking and traveling, since they didn't...
With a tug, the cuff is back down sitting on the bottom strap.
Edit: I forgot I had a pair of Ciano Farmers I never liked that much (tagged W32 but feel much bigger) that are a 9” opening:

8.5” cuff straight leg jeans and they still ride up when I sit down then get stuck up there. Every time I stand up, I need to tug my jeans down or they look like the pic below.
I love the boots...

That always looked odd to me in old America war movies. At least in more recent times in Australian service, you wear your uniform while you are ‘at work’ and if you are off base then you change into off duty clothing. Especially if you are going to the pub!
The one exception is ANZAC Day...
I’ll take a few more days to play with the leather samples and think about it, but I’m pretty much sold on the Horween Milan.
At 3oz, the weight is probably just what I need. When I set out on this adventure, I justified this purchase by telling myself I already have a heavy leather jacket...
