I wish. This last winter there was one day when it got dark and rained properly for about 10 minutes. Other than that we haven't had a decent rain in this part of the world for the last several years.
We got mountains on the coast....the rain clouds move in, hit the mountains and stay in place until all the water is dumped. Come October it will be grey for most of the time until March....if you suffer from SAD it can be tough.

Our neighborhood isn't quite half-way between our local mountains and the nearest part of the coast--about 15-20 miles from either--but we're very close to some even-more-local hills that seem to noticeably affect the weather patterns here. I've been sitting here watching the news on television and they're showing parts of the Los Angeles area that are experiencing downpours, flooding, mudslides, traffic problems, and so on. Meanwhile, we're sitting here looking at bright sunlight coming in the windows. All. Day. Long. Sometimes I almost wonder if we're even in the same state. o_O

(I sure folks will hate me for this one...)

There's "pumpkin spice" food everywhere... coffee, creamer, Cheerios cereal, and who knows what else...

And while I don't mind it... I am not as crazy about it as some people.

Not quite as bad as the cinnamon scented oversized pine cones. I’m guessing it’s an artificial scent, and it’s nothing if not extravagantly overdone. A display of the things in the supermarket vestibule threatens to burn your eyes.
