Wow! No kidding! That is similar to those old Cal(maybe) that t Mitchell showed in one of his YouTube videos.
These grains are so nice, that is what I am hoping for for a goatskin jacket. @torfjord did you a solid on this find! What a jacket too, that design is so cool. Is that what the Swedes...
I don't ride but that makes perfect sense, loungers also mention kangaroo skin in the same breath. Yep, members here have so many jackets that we barely wear them enough to show wear/patina before we move on to the next jacket lol
yes, moosehide is so interesting to me. That would be so cool to...
@Riu the cafe racer looks nice, hope you get it all sorted out with 5* before it ships out
@MrProper the deerskin is rather thin but it's a welcome change wearing it because it's so light and easy to wear
The grains on those old goat looks different, they look really good,
I was guessing maybe goatskin is so strong and so abrasion resistant it might take forever to show wear plus the grains of the jacket I have is so fine it looks too uniform. Agreed I won't be getting a goatskin as a first...
I had a seal goatskin from 5* and I have a chrome tanned goatskin from JL that I kept for now but I'll probably move it in later on as well. I've seen that nice Swedish goatskin you have and t Mitchell also has nice looking vintage ones. Agreed, those older jackets look better for some reason...
Yep, not too bad of a wait at all. I should receive the j24 quicker than the mentioned 6 month wait time since this order was from last fall. I'll keep it clean and simple, ill request for it to have no gussets/belt loops/epaulette, and it will have a different sleeve design
Got it, i thought my eyes were so bad that I was only seeing black lol the leather facing by the inside pocket in the photo did look brown to me. that's so cool, congratulations on this beauty
This looks wonderful! Love the removable fur collar. Pls post fit photos if you can.
You mention the color is chesnut but How is the color in real life?
I should have received it sooner (it's been w/ customs for 3 days now) but it's a holiday weekend so it got delayed a little. A good 4 months wait for this jacket. I already have a black j24 D pocket on order.
That wait time is getting longer and longer. I'm so stoked for him getting plenty of orders. I'm so excited to see what comes next for him and his business. I should be getting my 2nd FL jacket tomorrow so I'm very excited to finally wear that Frankenstein
Hold up, what is this potatoes in the toebox trick? That so random and funny to me haha
Great! Thank you, I'm thinking of getting one but in a smooth leather.
Ooh haven't seen this one before. Don't mind if I do.
Full of it, you mean? Lol
That's nice to know how you feel about Field Leathers, funnily enough Greg almost worked for JC at GW before he set up shop and opened his own company.
As much as I like himel's design and the oil tanned dark brown shinki he offers, I am really having a hard time to be completely sold and especially considering the price point then it really is a tough ask. Im thinking I can get multiple jackets with that money or just add a few extra hundred...
That's good to know that you are well, glad you are preoccupied too lol. Same here just working and trying to wear the jackets as much as I can while it's still a little cool here. That is so intriguing, the grain looks really good with that one. Teacore is always cool but we all have so many...
Thanks man, the leather is really something else. The collar is so soft and cozy, no wonder shearling is so beloved. The fit would have looked so much better if I went with the right size but it's cool it still works. Go for it, get one too, it's calling out to you.
