Thank you kindly! My next jacket will be a pretty stick to the pattern j24 d pocket, I do have a JL jacket in the works and that will be a French cyclist/German flyer style i.e. Eastman Luftwaffe. I do think I figured out what I want to wear but those change a lot so i just go for designs I know...
Looks to be a front drop of 1 3/8". Your black FL looks like it's on the money already but a 2" drop won't be too drastic of a change. The front drop on Jake's FW suede trucker is the best I've seen.
Thank you, FL customer #1 @MrProper! It really is a joyful day. Really love wearing this jacket, it's very easy to wear and it will be a keeper for sure.
Thanks man, I do like the ball and chain and I'm sure I'll use it for future projects as well.
I did notice here and the Instagram post he made. I appreciate all the kind words, I really do. Agreed, you will have 2 medium browns and it will be nice to have a black one for variety. I can't wait...
Yes, I noticed it right away when I checked the initial fit photos so I loosened them up right away. I got the photos of the side adjusters being loosened on the wjaywt thread. I could have requested 1" less in the waist but the side adjusters would have been just a decorative piece then.
Thanks man, this fits great (I can wear a sweater/hoodie if I need to). I can't wait for it to relax some more and break in properly. I noticed as much as i am into brown shades I think black jackets work best for me.
I hear you, I used to dislike the ball and chain zipper pull design but I've grown to like them over time. The length of the pull here is so much shorter than the one with the FW Mulholland or the Aero Premier highwayman so it doesn't bother me so much. I do tuck the pull sometimes especially...
I have received Frankenstein and I got nothing but great things to say about the jacket but I think photos will be easier for everyone. I tightened the adjusters a little too tightly on these initial photos.
That's so cool! Members here have said that Thedi are experts in doing this wash/wax treatment! I wonder if I should request a brown cowhide leather and have them wash it like yours!
I hope the measurements and actual fit finds you well!
I think a thick veg tanned goatskin would be really wonderful to wear but a substantial steerhide will be too. Can't wait to see fit photos soon, all the best!
Got it, thanks for sharing. I'm also trying to order a jacket from Thedi so this really helps, never knew that wash and wax treatment will significantly change the look of a leather! If I don't go for the black canetto cowhide, this might do it for me!
What a jacket, it's different from what we normally see but it is charming. Love the pocket on the center, that's a cool design and placement. Older goatskin really is the way to go for me. Any idea if that is veg tanned or chrome tanned?
Maybe just maybe goats from decades ago are hardier than...
Ahh you had one of those too, atleast you get to wear one. I read that JL used to make jackets from kangaroo hides but good ol' California banned it so guess I'm out of luck too lol
