    Any writers?

I got a piece published in the regional edition of my church's synod magazine. My work is published in four newspapers weekly, but this was something I dropped my 'no work unless $$' rule for.

    Democracy

Your American Cousins are often in the same boat. I apologize if I leapt to the "oh no, here we go..." point of view. It's a great film and I remember seeing things like it in grade school. It fits perfectly here. We'll expect everyone to stay off the moderne.

    Democracy

Skeevy topic aside, I like the poor researcher in the beginning with his printed graphs, index cards, handwritten notes. And then that barrister's bookcase, worth a bit of money now, filled with information like a tiny Google farm.

    Bourbon

I would have assumed lighter fluid, too. But I find it to be quite good (that's a fifth). Evan Williams, I tossed after a sip. Awful stuff.

    Bourbon

Those who like Buffalo Trace bourbon should try Benchmark. It's made by the same people, is is quite respectably good and under $10.

    Don't Mess With Olivia DeHavilland

Agreed. CZJ was remarkably bad. I didn't care for Feud beyond the first three episodes and bailed before the thing wrapped up. My likely unpopular opinion is that Jessica Lange is a parody of herself now. Her performances are mannered, ticky, and with a weird speech pattern that cant't be traced...

    What's In Your Bathroom Library?

Volume one of Churchill's "The Second World War." All six turned up as first editions at my local library's Saturday morning fundraising book cellar. I got them all for $16. From the same source, "On The Road to Tara," by Aljean Harmitz, 1996. The making of Gone With the Wnd. And always a...

The Real Reason Malls Are Closing

I don't know that lousy service and selection are confined to retail locations/malls. My SO is in a position to purchase a lot of appliances regularly, spending $25k-$30K in any given month. The people at Lowes became so lax in returning calls and accepting orders-- I mean no one could be found...

    Anybody interested...?

I moved the thread, as it's "X for sale for $X." The forums are broken into categories to keep things together. Items for sale go here, regardless of "just passing along" intent. This is hardly an unexpected plot twist for people with posts numbering in the thousands.

    WONDER WOMAN

Saw Wonder Woman Saturday afternoon. I think it may be one of the best made movies I've ever seen- the way the action scenes were done (except for the obvious fantasy super hero stuff) reminded me of the best of the Indiana Jones series. Just as Doctor Strange said, we talked all the way home...

    WONDER WOMAN

I'm seeing it this weekend and can't wait. I'd paid zero attention until people started the rave reviews. WWI? Action? DC? Planes? ROBIN WRIGHT? I'm IN.
