I'm far too old for this rubbish. It's been a long time, but I've overindulged. Doing the greasy food, lots of water and a Bloody Mary for Hemingway's sake.
"The Good Place." Nice to see Ted Danson back on the tube.
Also, "The Sinner," "Insecure," "American Horror Story: Cult," "Master Chef" and others.
Picking up Season 2 of "The Exorcist" this evening.
Lampshades are one of those things that can be difficult to date, and difficult to match "correctly" with any given lamp. They were very much subject to their buyer/owner's taste and got swapped out quite a bit. Probably any bell-shaped cloth shade would work for yours, or anything you like...
One of the few--very few-- advantages to living in the interior is not a lot of severe weather. We get tornadoes, that's about it since the big flooding in the nineteens.
So yesterday, I brought out my five year old Shark Lift-Away, the one with the taped up hose to cover the cracks that started appearing almost right away, and the tank latch is pretty much shot. The whole thing is useless now. It worked really well when new, but fell apart fast.
So I got out my...
I have to say this seems awfully plausible, given the use of a spar to deliver a heavy charge at close range, the certainty of heavy recoil, the lack of attempts to save themselves, and undamaged skeletons still at their stations. Whatever killed them, killed them where they squatted in an...

Labor Day approaching always reminds me of Jerry Lewis, who was synonymous with the weekend since the 60s. He raised more than $4.5 billion of MDA 1967-2010.
He stopped doing them, MDA went to a short show, then gave it up altogether in 2014. One wonders how they raise money now, and how much.
Just finished "Pastrix: The Cranky, Beautiful Faith of a Sinner and Saint." by Nadia Bolz-Weber. I'm going to hear her speak in October and can't wait.
There are so many problems in American society that will have to be addressed at some point it's pretty daunting. But in the main, the problem of what to do in a democracy with too many people and too few jobs will probably take up much of the latter 21st century gab. I heard a South Korean...
I really liked it, but I'm just sappy enough to cry at the end. Gene Davis was surprisingly suited to the era, and Rosie O'Donnel was fantastic.
I guess the town where much of it was filmed STILL talks about what a jerk Madonna was.
This probably began long ago, and the "foodie" was Julia Child, who featured monkfish in an episode of The French Chef that became a classic. And it is delicious. It was regarded as "the poor man's lobster" because it tasted kinda sorta similar if you didn't know any better. When I see it in the...
