    Posting Pics

When choosing upload media, the images go to limbo until a mod can approve them. It's a spam catching feature for us but the images are always just fine. It just creates a delay.

Anyone know of a free photo site that FL accepts?

That was exactly my thinking. It was just convenient. But those days seem to be ending. What happens when you go to imgur and you find yourself shut out of your own images? When Photobucket did it, it made me room pacing, talk to myself angry.

Third Party Photo Hosting: What We Know, And Why You Don't Need It.

Photobucket has cut off the free ride for hosting photos. Any image that you have stored there which is linked to The Fedora Lounge or any other website is now broken. I discovered that I cannot even see or retrieve my own photos while on the Photobucket website. I had a number of images there...

Anyone know of a free photo site that FL accepts?

PLEASE just upload photos here. The instructions are so simple. There is also nothing at all that we do, or don't do, at our end to make image hosting sites "acceptable." We do what we're supposed to do, those sites screw with your stuff and their terms regularly. How to: Find the picture file...

Old Smells that Make Your Nose Wrinkle

Spencer Tunick photographs large numbers of gathered naked people. One of the participants wrote afterward that he was unprepared for the unexpected smell of hundreds of naked bodies all together. Primates stink. If you have any doubts, go spend time near a gorilla in the open air. They smell...

The Fedora Lounge Guide to Stiffly Starched Shirts, Grandma's Way

Sleeves Spread a sleeve out on the ironing board. Beginning at the shoulder end, begin pressing it flat. As you press with the iron, hold the cuff and pull gently, creating a flat surface over which the iron will glide. Stop at the cuff. Note that as we're pressing toward the cuff...

Onward No need for soaking. Just press the shirt around in the solution, then lift it out. Starting at the collar, press downward, squeezing out excess solution as you go. Here's where your own judgment comes into play: If you are starching heavy, sturdy cloth, then you can get away with...

Trip to America's Packard Museum, Dayton, Ohio

I drove to Dayton recently as my roommate had meetings there. Having a few hours to kill, I went to the Citizen's Motorcar Copany, a preserved Packard dealership begun in 1912. The manager's office is still there, the fixtures, service department, all of it. Now it houses a considerable...
