I had another hat delivered from Mike yesterday. (As an aside I beginning to wonder if he adds something to his hats because I always want another one)!
This one is in black cherry. It is the dress weight felt but it is definitely darker than the Penman black cherry that I was able to study...
And Gary Cooper in 'For Whom the Bell Tolls' I couldn't copy an image for some reason, but his costume is in exactly the same mould.

I'd seen that granite hat on Mike's facebook page and had emailed him to say how good it looked. In some ways I wish you hadn't posted even more pics, because now I'm going to have to get me one of those...!
I do love black cherry and there do seem to be a number of different shades out there. I have Art's light weight, which is very dark and have seen other dress weight felts that are several shades lighter, this seems to be another shade again. Is it winchester felt?
Looks great and a really...
hatsRme lovely grey hat. Very good look.
I too have been on a diet for the past few months - the 5&2. I've lost 3 1/2 stone (49lb) and almost half an inch around my head. Not sure how that works. I feel great for it, but now none of my clothes fit and I threw out all my 'skinny' clothes a...
Aha - I must have seen it once when coming up for the market. It's been years, is the market still going? Quick google search tells me it is. Must go again.
Some phenomenal hats again. They are all great and I really don't want to single one out, but casehopper...wow. Stunning hat.
Richard sharp as ever and superb backdrop, very picturesque.
As regards my nom de plume - I live in Teddington and support Harlequins. I've always been wary of using my real name on the web, but this seems like a friendly place so I thought I'd make an exception.
Best wishes
Greg
Some wonderful hats, I don't have enough time to mention them all, but Richard who would have thought a balistraria would come in so useful in the 21st century!
Here's my 'Lawless' style fedora. It's wonderfully light and perfect for spring (if it ever arrives).

What is it Wilde said:
"We have really everything in common with America nowadays except, of course, language"
I think George Bernard Shaw said something similar as well.
Whatever the differences in language, cool pic, if a little scary!
Thought I'd breathe some life into this thread.
Saw 3 yesterday. A black trilby that looked like black fur felt. Quality looked good but I was some distance away. A brown fur felt fedora and a really cool looking black cherry with an approx 1 1/2 inch black ribbon.
All in Twickenham...
