I agree it looks too "blousy". Also, I like a longer jacket, but it definitely seems too long.
If you don't like it now, I doubt you'll grow to like it.
FWIW, my Crescent is a regular fit and you can fit a light sweater underneath.
As Touareg said, don't make any allowance for your sizing. Just measure according to their order sheet.
For my new leather jacket, I've been thinking of adding thinsulate.
I'm wondering if this makes the jacket too hot to wear in the spring/fall and wether it adds excessive bulk.
Thanks
They are very warm. With a sweater underneath, I wore my B-6 in -5 degrees f weather and was quite warm. However, it is comfortable up to around 40 degrees and here in Seattle, I've been wearing it often in the winter (40's usually).
I'm not sure if it's the nature of shearling, but it never...
When I purchased my Langlitz, Dave (the manager at Langlitz) told me to apply their leather dressing to the jacket new as this would soften the leather. He also recommended to use their dressing twice a year to keep the leather supple and water resistant.
After reading this thread, I'm not...
I don't think that's true. My jacket came in a timely fashion and Mark Moye is very good to work with. Very patient and always answered my questions very quickly. I believe you also save some money with him (duty and shipping).
I notice it most when I drive and it tends to be the worst then. I think you are right that the back of the jacket must twist more when I'm sitting down. Also, it's a shearling jacket, so I think that maybe my sleeves have less resistance in the coat which further compounds the problem...
I have a question regarding a jacket I have. Whenever I wear the jacket, the shirt sleeve on one side rides below the cuff and the shirt sleeve on the other side rides up my arm. It's more annoying than you would think!
Anyone know why this happens? The sleeve lengths are equal.
Mine are also set forward. With the collar down, the epaulettes stay down; but if you pop up the collar, the epaulettes do rise when you raise your arms. I'm not sure wether moving it closer to the seam would matter. Drop Amanda at Aero an email. She's very responsive, although I think they are...
If I was riding then i would also opt for just below the belt. However, my preference is a longer jacket. To me, the shorter length looks funny, but that's my own preference. I'm about 5'11" and I like a 27" length in the back and maybe a inch or two shorter in the front, but it depends on the...
I'm surprised to hear about your experience with Aero. I bought a B-6 from them and I find the jacket to be perfect for me in terms of fit. I was thinking of folding the shearling back on itself, so that it won't show the shearling at the cuffs and hem. I emailed Amanda and she said that they...
I think the height is ok, but the pockets are cotton drill, so they are not very warm. Retrospectively, I would have added a cotton flannel lining.
I was also thinking that a cleaner look would have been to tuck the shearling in at the cuffs and the hems. I know that's not the authentic...
