I started by sending Greg my guesses at what I needed but I soon realised that I’m better off giving him a lot of precise measurements of me and my jackets and then describing the fit that I want - better than me trying to tell him the chest and waist measurements that will work for me.
I’m just throwing a bunch of measurements and photos of me in different jackets at Greg and asking him to make it as slim as possible while still allowing some movement.
I think maybe next year I will be back for a CR order - @Jin431 ’s jacket looks absolutely perfect to my eye.
I’m no expert here, but four months wait for a jacket you’ll be wearing for 40 years isn’t that bad. But I would think the key difference is sizing - unless the off the rack Schott fits you really well, you’d be better getting Aero make something that does fit you well. Otherwise you’ll end up...
It looks perfect!
Mind if I ask what the measurements are? I'm curious about the actual jacket minus body. It looks like you are running about 1" from chest to opening.
I work in public health emergency management. My normal work attire was business casual, but now I’m in uniform (polo, windbreaker, tactical pants and boots) in the field or in the Emergency Operations Centre. I do WFH a couple days a week, and spend those in a new pair of jeans I’m working on...
It all worked out in the end. I just sent an order to Greg Field this morning to do a very similar style in brown Shinki.

good luck with yours!
The Milan is pretty soft when made into a jacket. It’s also a beautifully rich color. CXL can be thick and takes time to break-in, but it feels pretty good once you have those creases established.
Awesome!

The Horween CXL8 is a beautiful leather. I fell in love with it when I bought a pair of Redwing Gentleman Traveller boots 12 years ago. I have had belts and wallets and bags in it. And this jacket. You are going to love it! Can’t wait to see your Highwayman.
Thanks. It's not perfect, but it's a good starting point. The sleeve and body length is pretty good. I definitely want the chest and waist of the new jacket slimmer than this one. I'm aiming for a pretty slim fit like yours - Texas winters are fairly mild and it's rare that I zip up a jacket...
