    Ok...let's tap the brakes just a bit. While the Mustang is real, it is a Titan T-51D Mustang. It flies just like the real deal, except an NA P-51-D is much heavier. Mine is a 3/4 scale version. Thanks for the compliments on the jacket. Anneke was so patient with me! I gave her a lot of "detail"...

    I would be more interested in a book containing info on design evolution, why certain styles were chosen, who was awarded the contract and why, etc., etc. Yes, lots of good high quality photos is a must. WWII would be my main timeline for interest.

    They are cow hide, with synthetic collars. With regards to grain, it is all over the place. I have goat that looks like a cow, and cow that looks like a goat!
