What about the beach obstacles facing the wrong direction in "Saving Private Ryan"?
And about the .45; doesn't that come under the rule of "One bullet kills twenty indians"? I can't remember who joked about that, maybe Carlin.
He had some good info and posts on the WW2 reenactors forum. Never did know what happened to him; I knew he'd died, but that was about it. Thanks for filling in the blanks.
It seems as grainy as my issue A2, and maybe a little bit different in shade. A lot more stiffer, tho, which is what I was looking for.
I'll try to get some pics up soon!
Using the books as a basis of the miniseries but having it cover more of the island hopping that occurred would have been a good deal. As I said, Tarawa was only one of the more bloody battles that the Marines engaged in; it might have been interesting to see something about it.
And I'm not...
1995 The Prophecy with Christopher Walken and Viggo Mortensen. Mortensen is Lucifer and taunting one of the other characters:
Lucifer: Little Tommy Daggett. How I loved listening to your sweet prayers every night. And then you'd jump in your bed, so afraid I was under there. And I was...
Opps.
Not the first time things like this have happened. Everyone remember the "Hitler Diaries"?
And the spoof that "Bloom County" did about the whole mess?
I think we can go round and round about units that were not shown in "The Pacific" and should have been.
The main complaint I have is that they left out Tarawa. How can any mini-series about the war in the Pacific leave out a battle like that?
As the title states, looking for some Buzz Rickson love in the form of a size 44 L-2 or L-2B.
Anyone have one hanging in their closet and not getting much wear??
Thanks!
They look great, but how are they sized? A little big, a little small???
In an issue flight jacket (CWU-36/45), I have to wear an XL since the run a bit small.
I'm thinking along the lines of their L-2.
Thanks!
Hotel Rwanda was showing the worse side of man, but it was also showing the best side. A man was trying to save as many people as he could, risking his own life and the lives of his family while doing it.
Anything listed in the Sportsman's Guide is suspect. I wouldn't buy 99.9% of the junk they offer. I saw some of their WW2 US Webgear that ATF was blowing out. This was last year at FIG. I wouldn't buy it for my 13 year old nephew to play with.
