That's what I've been concerned about. I want to put a decal on an MA-1, but want to make sure it's a good quality and long lasting marking. Heat does worry me on the nylon.
I was trying to find mine a few days ago. It might have been a "flight suit"-like fabric. I know it had the quilted liner like a winter flight jacket, but the collar was pointed and the pockets were of a different design.
Thanks for the ideas. I'm just worried about waterslide. When I hear that, I think about model decals, and don't think they'd do too well on nylon jackets. I hope that they are a lot more hardier than those!
Decal
Thanks. Here's the exact one I'm looking for:

Now, the $10,000 question: Anyone ever use one of these?
I've been looking around but having some trouble getting these.
What I'm looking for is the USAF Shoulder roundel that was on issued flight jackets. During/right after WW2, it was the roundel and "Army Air Forces"; after Sep 1947, it was the roundel and "U.S. Air Force".
Anyone know where...
Well, I enjoy hiking, biking, swimming, long walks on the beach....wait, this isn't match.com, is it?
I like flight jackets. WW2 uniforms and history. Movies. Reading.
I've always thought that you made the best use out of what you had.
If the company is cutting up good holsters that can be used as holsters, that's messed up. If they are on the "trashed" side of the scale, I think it's a cool deal. They're just recycling things.
Uniform items were made...
I warned you! To be honest, I did the same thing; someone warned me about it, and I had to read up on the synopsis. And I agree; "social commentary on Serbia" my white Irish ass!
I thought "Come and See" sucked, to be blunt. Any war movie with a "thumbs up" from Sean Penn should be avoid.
"The Evil Dead" was OK, but the sequels rocked! Bruce Campbell was great in them!
This was made of a normal fabric, not flight jacket material. I liked it a lot better than the shiny "disco" CWU jacket I was issued. Considering how things have changed, the "uniform Nazis" would probably not let me wear it!
The opening in the back a rescue strap. Tankers have a fabric...
You mean that there is one suave dude (or dudette) that's owned one of these?
Well, what has anyone heard about them? Fact, fiction, rumor or innuendo?
I learned to type on an IBM Selectric III in highschool. I know my sister, who was about two years ahead of me, learned on a manual machine.
When I first joined the AF, I was a teletype operator. Yep, in good ol' 1983, we were still using 1960's equipment. Things were slowing being phased out...
Well, right now, I'm working my way thru all the "Twilight Zone" episodes. So far, just finished up with the first season.
If you like vintage 1959+ clothing, this is the series to see!
"The Mist" is a very good movie. My friend saw the black and white version and said it was great.
"The Exorcist" scared the heck out of me when I was a kid, and that was just by seeing the trailers! I finally saw the full movie when I was deployed to Italy in 1993. On Halloween night. In a...
I was issued an A2 as soon as I passed my checkride. It was a 42 and an earlier model, so it was a bit snug. I traded up to a 46 since I wasn't sure if I would get the older model or a newer one with the underarm gussets. Turned out to be a newer one.
The leather isn't bad, but it's not top...
Been checking these out the past few days and really like what I'm seeing. Anyone have some first hand experience with them, especially the B-15s (with the fur collar).
Tho I am really liking the look of the B-10 with the white collar!
Thanks!
