Well, I'm going to sell off my desert flight jacket. Don't need it or wear it and it's taking up valuable closet space. Plus I can use the cash.
It's an XL (46-48)
Manufactured by Ashland Sales and Service, NSN 8415-01-491-6192.
This jacket is brand new, with only the nametag velcro...
The US has this thing about burning gear in a warzone. I know during Desert Storm we had the chance to turn in uniforms to get new ones. All the old ones were taken out and burned. Uniforms along with other items that were damaged, like old rucks and webgear.
Anyone ever hear of a podcast called, "The Film Vault"? They have their "Top 5" whatever. War film, comedy, death scene, etc. I just listened to their Top 5 Most Disturbing Films. It was good, but unfortunately revisited several films I was hoping to forget.
It's the cost. They can reissue that, and when I asked about flight gear, they said that when someone separates, they have to turn it in. Guys that retire can keep it.
Now, tell me, what the heck am I gonna do with 8 flight suits and four flight jackets? LOL! Guess I can sell them on Ebay...
Well, I was wrong. Seems that when I retire from my squadron, all I have to give back is my goretex jacket. I can keep my flightsuits, flight jackets, etc.
Movie reviewers pretty much suck. I think any movie that's a "check your brain at the door" is a total loss for them. If it doesn't somehow make you a better person (??), it's not good.
"Suckerpunch" was about sacrifice. Are you willing to give it all up for someone elses freedom?
Plus, it...
You know you're getting closer to a military base by the amount of those pens you find in the hands of retail clerks, gas station attendants, bar tenders, strippers......
Let me see. Use to wave to Neil Finn when I ran past his house when I was on vacation in New Zealand.
Shook President Ford's hand at McConnell AFB, KS in the 1970's. He went down the line and shook everyone's hand in the pouring rain. He hit my mom in the forehead.
Brad Williams (Carlos...
That's what I was always told. You were issued thru supply longjohns, you got to keep them. Parka, well, that has to be turned in. It can be cleaned and reissued.
In my squadron, leather flight jackets, like all other flight gear, an issue item and has to be turned in. But, if you retire, you...
Last movie I saw?
Sucker Punch.
Good movie. Look beyond the ueber-nerd "hot chicks with automatic weapons" movie. It's about sacrifice. How far are you willing to go to obtain your goals?
I have a nice CWU-45P flight jacket. Size is 38-40 (Medium). Other info from the tag:
Isratex Inc.
DLA 100-89-C-0447
Mil-J-83388
It's a very nice jacket, but I have no idea why I have it, since I wear a large/XLarge.
No fading, velcro on the pockets is still good, velcro for patches...
Hell, yeah. I have friends from the military that only have to call and I'd ask two questions:
1. Where are they at?
2. How much ammo do I need to bring.
I dunno. Probably because I'm one of the .1% that notices and I figure if you're going to go that far into detail on something, might as well go the whole nine yards.
Did you check the Gibson & Barnes website? I know they have a "clearance" section and they list them by sizes. They might have something there for you!
