If you're referring to the car coat, I don't know.
I saw the coat on the Ironheart stand at the Goodwood Festival earlier in the summer. Apparently it was made for a client, who then didn't turn up to collect it.
Will sent a number of samples down to Goodwood, with the hope of selling...
Breaking in an Aero front quarter horsehide jacket is quite a long term proposition. It'll take a couple of years for it to really soften up properly, but when it does it's fantastic. If you visit Aero, ask Will if he can show you his old Highwayman or Barnstormer, because they are spectacular...
If it has to be a Belstaff then get one of the motorcycle range, rather than a fashion jacket. They tend to be a lot cheaper, and being designed for falling off bikes, more durable. Urban Rider, Holden (prices exclude the dreaded VAT :D), and Moto Legends are the best places to start.
Scott...
I remember having a conversation with Nick Ashley in his shop in which he mentioned that David Beckham had an group of stylists who roved London and bought interesting pieces for him to wear. I wouldn't be surprised if Messrs Cruise and Depp have the same arrangement.
The Nick Ashley shop...
I'd have thought that if Will had measured you up then the additional sleeve length would have been built into the sizing already.
Kentaurus, a German Aero dealer, sell the Norfolk jacket that has a false belt. Aero should be able to do something similar for you assuming it's not a dealer...
You could try one of the heavier cotton fabrics, such as moleskin, corduroy or even denim. I've got a suit made up of the latter, and it doesn't look like a pair of jeans.
I saw a fantastic summer suit by Timothy Everest once that used a pastel pink cashmere blend corduroy. But I'm not sure if...
No idea. The Kudu is probably of a similar thickness to FQHH, but it's a lot softer. I don't know if they've got any more of the distressed looking leather in, but they're trying to get it.
The other thing to bear in mind is that Aero get the hides as quarters, so they're limited in panel size...
I saw the two sample Pioneers today. No fit pics because they're size 38, and I'm a 48. :)
There are two kinds of Kudu: The pebble grained style seen on the Aero site, and one that looks like an extremely distressed Oil Pull. Will reckons that the latter will look fantastic with a few years...
Yeah, this could quickly degenerate into a Holy Flame War. And I can appreciate that Indiana will be warmer than the UK, so my set of leathers would be murder in the summer. :)
Griff, assuming you're talking about Pegasus, I'd agree. From the photos (above) their jackets appear to be on a par with the Good Wear in terms of detailing, and possibly ahead of Aero. I prefer the Pegasus designs to Good Wear's utility jackets, as they seem to have a bit more attitude.
I...
I know what you mean. I'm rather smitten by their Safari Jacket, but am a bit nervous about spending that much blind. I would with a Good Wear, but that's because I've not heard a bad word about John Chapman's work.
Going horribly off topic for a few minutes...
Yes, I ride a bike. I've been on a Harley Sportster a couple of times, but don't generally get on with them as I'm on the tall side.
Here in the UK we've got a tiered licensing system. The basic level is the CBT (certificate of basic training)...
Griff, the link in my last post will drop you into the pictures folder for the Good Wear Mojave. John Chapman also sells a Cafe Racer. (More photos.)
The Pegasus Cafe Racer can be seen from various angles on their website.
Nice jacket (and bike) there. The finish and detailing looks excellent, the stitching is very neat, and the fit's good.
What's the leather like? You mention it's less plastic than Aero FQHH, so I'm guessing it's softer and thinner.
Oh, if you want another idea for the inevitable next jacket...
Fanch, for some reason women get concerned when their menfolk start looking at things like Harleys. But Sportster is something of a misnomer, as a true sportsbike (like Wade's brace) will produce something like twice the power. :o
As for collars, how about seeing if you could get the AN6522 /...
