The tan short cruiser was very crinkly. I ended up getting the black version. I don't know why, but the black ones were smooth and soft.
Is it worth 300 bucks? It's good quality, but it is overpriced. I almost went with the Gustin jacket https://www.weargustin.com/store/1076, but I couldn't try...
The Langlitz never fully developed as I expected. It's funny, I really thought that the leather would continue developing character, but it kind of just stopped in terms of graining and loss of shine. I ended up selling it.
On the other hand my Goodwear A2 was a jacket that I never wore that...
I requested the lightest shearling Aero had to make my D1. I previously had a B6 and it was just too warm for Seattle winters (30's-40's)
My D1 fleece isn't really any shorter, but it's a lot less dense than my previous B6. It turned out great for me.
The D1 redskin is really stunning in person. The leather color with the off-white shearling is a great combo.
I get compliments on the jacket every time I wear it. Today, the hip Whole Foods checker gal said the jacket was shagalicious lol.
I had a B6, but I sold it as it was a little too bulky and warm for me. I never considered an Irvin or B3 as I think they would be way too much for the Pacific Northwest. I always liked the simplicity of the D1. I asked Carrie at Thurston Brothers about modifying a D1. I asked for the lightest...
I have a D1 on order and was told to take my normal size, a 38. I think I was told that the shell is oversized to compensate for the fleece. Also, I plan to wear the coat with just a tshirt/dress shirt, so no layering for me.
I wear a 38 30's halfbelt, a 34 stockman, and in a Highwayman would...
Ian, your jacket looks great, but I see what you mean that's it's not trim in the midsection.
Here's Jan with an off the shelf Aero Bronco. Looks a bit trimmer.

I had the same concerns as you when I was buying an A2. I'm a 40" chest and 31" waist.
I went with a Goodwear Aero 1938. Turned out pretty well, but in retrospect, I think I would have gotten a Bronco. The 1938 armholes are pretty high and a bit uncomfortable.
My IH jeans don't get much wear. For me, it's more of the leg/hip cut. More of a stovetop leg which I really don't like. The cut I have is the 634. Probably should have gone with the slim cut.
Plus the IH bleed denim like no other pair I've had. Indigo everywhere.
If you ski, you know that nowadays most people ski with a windproof shell and layers undeneath. It's the windproof shell that allows you to be comfortable in very cold temps without looking like the Michellin man while skiing.
Leather is a terrible insulator, but windproof.
Looks pretty normal to me.
All my Aero CXL's have aged the way your jacket has. I personally love the way it ages, but I can understand if you don't.
If it makes any difference, the fading will lessen quite a bit after the initial rubbing off.
It's difficult to say unless you try them on.
Even if two people have the same chest size, how the jacket fits depends on so many other factors (obviously).
My buddy and me are both a 40 suit size. He's a little thicker through the torso and wider in the shoulders and bought a 40 Aero Cafe...
Hmm, a lot depends on how you like your jacket to fit, but I think you should ask yourself wether you should do a 34 or a 36.
I'm same height, 160 lbs, 40" chest and would wear a 38.
If it's not too bad, I had good luck with Leatherique http://www.autogeek.net/le16ozkit.html. Got the dye out of one of my cars, but not the more soiled one.
I don't wear my Aero's while driving.
However, it's not for the wear of the coat, but because the leather color transfers to the seat. Ok if you have black seats, but all of my cars have different color leathers and the coat color transfers to the seats in a big way. Ruined the leather of my...
John's fleece is so nice.
My Aero B6 was just too thick and fluffy.
I just ordered a D1 through Aero and requested the thinnest off white fleece they had. Also had them finish the the hem/sleeves, because on my previous B6 it was way too fluffy. Felt a little like Santa Claus.
LOL I wouldn't worry about the jacket being passed around. That HH is pretty tough ;).
I did find in my Aeros that they did loosen up quite a bit with wear. Not so much in snugness, but in comfort.
