This is my Goodwear 38-1711-P in seal and berry knits.
You can really see the difference. The other interesting thing is that John's OD green is much more tan in this jacket.
Aero A2 ordered through Thurston's.
Tagged as a 40. For reference, I wear a 38 in a 1930's HB and am 5'10, 165. Usually a 40 suit size.

Sleeve 25" (including knits)

Hmmm, I think that the vast majority of car enthusiasts would pick the '57 corvette over the new Z06 or an air cooled 993 Porsche over a 998 Porsche.
I also don't think that a Goodwear jacket is in any way inferior in comfort or style to a G&B.
Looking to sell my Goodwear Acme 38-1711-P in horsehide.
Started Crossfit and have gone from 160 to 175. I was around a 38-40 and have gone to a 42.

Back 24
Arm 25

All lengths including knits
John is selling for 1549, I'm asking 800.
If it's raining hard, I don't wear the D-1. A lot of days here are just rain showers, rather than the steady rain and the D-1 has been fine with the light rain.
I wouldn't want to test the D-1 in a steady rain.
My B-6 was way too hot.
I ordered a D1 with the shortest shearling that Aero had. The D1 shearling is probably 3/4 to 1/2 of the length of the B-6. Much more comfortable and makes it a October-Feb coat in temperate Seattle. Because of the modifications, Aero gave me a civilian tag, rather than...
Aero is pretty good about trying to satisfy their customers. However,in my experience if the beginning result is not good, the end result usually isn't either.
I had a Cheyenne that was HUGE (size recommended by Aero). I sent it back twice, but it never fit right. They didn't make me a new...
It's FQHH. Definitely check to see if the premier fit is slimmer. The 30's halfbelt I have is pretty slim fitting.
FWIW, I'm a 40 chest, 31" waist, 165 lb, 5' 11".
I really think it depends on how you want to wear it.
I'm a 40 suit size and my 30's halfbelt is a 38. I love the fit, it's perfect with a light sweater or just a shirt. If I was looking to layer with heavier sweaters, I would have gone with a 40. However, when the weather get's colder, I...
I had an Aero B6.
Great coat, but it was too warm for me in mild Seattle winters. I wore my B6 in Canada when it was 8 degrees with a light sweater and it was toasty. In terms of fit, my B6 wasn't a trim fit, but it wasn't a Michelin man look either.
I sold it and got a D1. I ordered the...
I agree with Peacoat.
I had 6 Aeros- 3 bought directly with Aero and 3 bought from Thurston Brothers.
The 3 directly from Aero were all sold on ebay.
The 3 from Thurston Brothers were a perfect fit.
