I reached out to them a couple weeks ago and got a generic we quoted 10-12 weeks production time. I think I ordered maybe 2 or 3 weeks after some of you, so can't imagine a flood of jacket orders came in that short time frame to turn the relative quick turnaround into a standard one. Who...
well done. Once it breaks down some, that'll drape nicely.
You could put in the dryer, no heat setting (air fluff I think is what some brands call it) and just tumble to death. Some people throw in some tennis balls or tennis shoes to help. But with that light color, I dont know if you want...
some light beading in the beginning, but didn't take much to start drinking it up. I was only out there maybe 2-3 minutes. Granted, was a pretty good down pour, but it was pretty soaked.
There's a couple nicks from my cat and then the usual in the seams from the stitch holes etc. But no wear in the usual high stress areas.
Here's one of the first shots. It was always grainy, but now it's ultra and there's a lot more shape to it. We talked before how the teacore was on the...
I was seeing slow and steady progress on the breaking in and evolution of this teacore route 66. Thunderstorms hit last night, so I was like wtf, let's give it a go. Wore the thing to dry pretty much overnight. Really kicked into over drive. No sign of brown yet though.
basically yeah, but lots of factors. It depends on the thickness of the top coat. But if you're looking for more of the teacore on the wear/high stress spots, I'd suggest Vicenza or of course Shinki. Greg at Field Leathers can make you one for about $1400. This is Shinki Teacore racer from...
Vicenza blackened brown board racer. Stick around long enough, one will hit you in the head on our classifieds or go new via Thurston Bros.
As others mentioned CXL eventual goes brown too, but it's a different sort of effect than what the Vic or the Shinki examples you mentioned will do.
yep, Schott 100 series leather. Some of the best around, period. Doesn't get talked about much around here, but I do toot its horn from time to time. Not good for bikers, but great fashion leather. And I saw the jacket in the LA store few months back. I'd say top 2 or 3 "to touch" leather...
I got a 42 coming next couple days. If it don't fit, you'll be getting a PM. These jackets are really nice. Almost like an upgraded Brooks, which we know is an all time classic.
Anybody getting close on a delivery? Now that his shop is up and running, hoping to see more jackets posted here. Looks like a couple went through on IG this past week. I'm guessing that's his production rate, maybe 2 or 3 a week.
Great jacket. It's the Schott James model. More of a car coat, little bit longer with big front drop. Beautiful naked aniline leather. The sleeves are like reversed tapered though (built for popeye). I had one and had them slimmed down. If you can pick this up sub $300, amazing deal.
Branded Garments. Especially if you know it's older--talon zips, etc. Usually sub 200. Without a doubt, the best value. Not just good for money, but straight out good.
Lots of Lesco fans. The brown jackets are legendary.
Fidelity and Brooks as Mike suggested.
You have to come up a little...
That's awesome. One of the best things I've ever seen on here.
It makes me sad when I see stuff like this being sold. I know sometimes money is tight but gosh, I can't imagine selling something so personal. I remember on Pawn Stars, this guy sold his father in laws WW2 flight jacket for like...
no worries. I didn't even notice myself for a couple days. I'm not sure it was ever there LOL. I think it must have missed qc because i don't know how it could fall out. In any case. Was super easy fix. Little slit in the lining, popped it in and bent the ring back, and it's all good...
