search Ebay for Brooks Cafe Racer. You want one with gold label. Most go for $90-125. One of the best bang for buck. Lesco has got a really nice brown leather too. there's an elastic band that runs across the mid back. You can feel it through the liner. If it's limp, it needs a new one. Any seamstress can pull this off very easily and without causing harm. Unless I'm mistaken, the zipper is something he could sew on at the very end. I get why you wouldn't want to precondition leather before constructing since there is waste when making the jacket. Yep this. And go for a #10. Made a big difference. When I had my zipper changed out, even though I forgot to mention it to Dena, it smoothed out a lot when she installed the new one. some of us get our jackets wet on purpose to speed up the break in, get more creases, etc. So it's not like the old Jerry Seinfeld joke about leather shrinking and cows screaming every time it rains :D The tricky part is not the getting wet part, but how it dries.
