Always had inside pockets (2) .... never been an issue other than on my 30+ year old brown FQHH Highwayman ( where you could just about see the outline ... but then by that time you could see the outline of almost every pocket and seam including the handwarmer pockets and the chest pocket and...
Wash it ... it's a laglitz, good quality leather and well made. The proceedure is well documented on here .... cold wash with woolite; dry; condition liberally ... and bob's your mothers brother as they say. Done it twice now to high end jackets and NO ill effects ( would I do it with a 1942...
I've always had inner pockets ( usually both sides) and to be honest have never really had them show on anything but brown FQHH jackets ( for some reason) ! The steerhide is a little thicker and tends to mask it and also the black and cordovan jackets show less. TBH every brown jacket I've had...
Got 3 M-65's ... an original 1960's one and 2 Alpha repro's one black one green and all with liners ( all of which are GREAT ). The Green alpha one did show some piling early on but that was easilly remidied and hasn't re-occured or been mirrored on the black one. They are great dog walking...
I'll have two new ones in the next 6 weeks ( One is in the US ..... Aero Halfbelt Deluxe Brown FQHH and one is in my wardrobe ... a new AL Drifter in Black CXL Steer ) ... I'll also have a pair of Edwin ED-77's and a pair of vintage levis to show off ( two forays into strange territory ...
No not Andrew ... although ISTR Andrew being involved in discussions around the project a couple of years ago ... at least his name was mentioned ... the main collaborator isn't a FLer, although some FLers were involved in the discussions. The object was to produce " The Most Authentic Irvin...
30 seconds won't even get it damp man ... I SOAK it .... like so it's REALLY WET ( think a jacket which has been out in the pouring rain for 1/2 an hour ) I then mould it till it's damp .. then usually let it sit moulded and nead it occasionally during the drying process ( perhaps even a little...
Hey Schitzo,
If it's CXL Horween steer then use hot water ( not boiling but hot .. dish washing temp) ... If you are soaking the whole jacket make sure you don't have tartan lining ( which is wool and will shrink) ..... if you have tartan lining use cold water. The last one I did I put it...
either that or wash it ... gently ... on a wool/delicates cycle in the washing machine with woolite ( I've done this now a couple of times with jackets which either smelled of mould / damp ( been in someones atic) or cigarette smoke ( been in someones ashtray :D).
I would NEVER have believed...
