It was a sale jacket .. I had the sleves shortened by AL by 1" ( after the picture) ... it was the only mod needed IMHO and the result was pretty much spot on for what I wanted. NOTE ... the surface dying which is applied to CXL steerhide is IDENTICAL to that applied to CXL Horsehide and the wear will be almost identical IMHO. It's not unique in this .... Wet Blue is generally considered unfinished leather. What is unique is HOW it is both Chrome and finished (Veg tanned and oiled) i.e what the constituents Horween use for the tanning liquors and also the oils / fats / waxes used for the post tanning processes. Is there lead in vintage leather pigment?
Veg dyed typically does not contain lead .... although some lead pigment dyed veg TANNED jackets can be found. Equally the lead is usually in the PIGMENT DYE and not typically the TANNING liquors ( although these can contain other heavy metal salts e.g. Chromium (III) Sulphate in Chrome...- Plumbline

There may have been in actual vintage pigments ( probably at much higher levels than currently) .... and there is certainly some still used now in modern reproductions. There are other heavy metals in pigments and tanning materials ( Chrome tanning ... there is a clue in the name :D) currently...- Plumbline

Need help finding the "right" B-3 jacket
I'm 170cm and 88kg, 109cm Chest, 90cm waist and the Eastman 44" Irvin is "just" long enough ... at 183cm I'd suggest it'd be a little short in both the body and the arm. The Eastman 44" fits like an Aero 42". The B-3 is similarly cut to the Irvin and I'd go with a 44" LONG for your height...- Plumbline

The dreaded inside pocket question
It is a common feature with the AL jackets also ( I don't count it as an issue .. althouigh some may ). I can understand why some amy find it an issue .... I HAVE NO BIAS HERE( I have both and like them both) I have to say I disagree with the concensus that AL jackets fit larger that Aero .... I have both in various similar models and I'd suggest that AL run slightly trimmer and a little truer to "actual" size. - A 44" Aero Vest De Rally...- Plumbline

4 month review of Bill Kelso A2 Victory Horse Dark Seal Aero 18775
A GREAT looking A2 .... with GREAT features. The sort of jacket which makes me want to get one because they look so good ( along with many of JC's creations). They are truely things of beauty ... but sadly I have an aversion to elasticated cuffs and waist's :( Awesome though .... wear it well.- Plumbline
