I used one of the strips that came with a new Stetson (on an older hat); I wish I hadn’t. It was the adhesive foam, essentially the same as weatherstripping. It is too thick and causes the sweat band to pucker, and there is no way to remove it without damaging the sweat. My go to now is felt... -

The size and shape of the frames depends on your face shape, but for me it’s Wayfarers. I also have the new Wayfarers. My optometrist had a great price on the new lightweight frames (I have to have Rx sunglasses). -
