PDAWG,
Sorry these are out of order. Seems my phone's a little backwards...or I just don't know how to use it yet.
I ordered the exact same thing, just a little larger in the chest. Yes, I like it that much. And as I said before, the leather looks really finished. I don't know if it'll handle...
Thank you. The one thing that caught me was the option from Simmons on putting on snaps. I wouldn't have thought that they would do that on a higher end jacket, but I've seen them on Aero's and one other brand also. Who knew?
PDawg,
Sorry for the late response. Been a little hectic here in NY.
The leather is much stiffer than my FQHH from Aero, but my Aero is now a couple seasons old. I don't know how this will break in, but it feels really substantial. It definitely has more finished look to it, and doesn't feel...
Good day to all. I recently purchased a Simmons Bilt Roadster in Clayton Smooth Horse. It is a dark chocolate brown with a Loccharan Thompson wool lining. I love the jacket, but just a touch too small for me in the chest. If you ride, shouldn't be a problem, but I have a Jeep and seems too tight...
I am one who would argue that shoulder width makes a huge difference. I have purchased three jackets, the first which fit in the shoulders but was so big in the body, the second which fits in the body but I can barely get a t-shirt under it, and a third that I asked for the shoulders to be...
What a beautiful jacket!
I really must stop visiting this forum. When I look in my closet, I think "That's enough" until I come here and see a jacket like this and think "oh, that's nice, maybe one more."
You may want to post measurements. It's a lot easier for us who are surfing from work where eBay is blocked. And the other cafe racer on here has 27" sleeves. If I had arms that long I could tie my shoes without bending over. But...I don't so still looking.
I wouldn't worry about Carrie. She's very forgiving.
And something to keep in mind, with the fit jacket, it will probably be horse or steer and it will be really stiff. It will seem difficult to move in and in my case, made me think it was too small. I ended up buying a size larger and when I...
Welcome to NJ. I think with your build, you definitely need the premier, if not like jacketjunkie mentioned the sheen. I don't think they have that on their website anymore though. But if you look on the threads you will find some mentions of it and how it fits. I am sure someone here will...
Good morning Witchtrip. I live in NJ also, and currently have a Maxwell with the drill lining. I didn't get the wool in the body, but on a day like today, it's just fine. It's a little cold in Feb and Mar, so the wool would probably have been a better option. Which is why I am now looking at...
The only time I've done it was with an old jacket I sent to US Wings in OH. They did a pretty respectable job, considering the jacket was about 30 years old. I don't know if I would be keen on sending something like an Aero or Kelso jacket to them because they didn't sew the cuff back on exactly...
Stand by, I have to admit, being Fred Flintstone always helped on those long ruck hikes. A little extra stored energy.
But thank you for the feedback. The more I wear it, the more I love it. Now I understand why Aero has a following.
Thanks guys. I don't really consider it a problem either. Just ran out of pants and had to wear a pair that are off white. I know, I know...it's not spring. But I've been playing single dad the past week and well, laundry came in last on the to do list.
I like the looks of the Vicenza. I was...
I would think it would, given the amount of waxes and oils in the hide. It happened with the only other "nice" jacket I had years ago, and that was a Schott. Not the same hide as used in the Aeros for sure, but it happened a little. Mostly on the door of my Jeep so who cares.
Does it happen...
Grayland, I have a slight, and I mean slight, ring around my waist. If I was wearing anything but super light twills, you wouldn't even notice. So I am going to wear the jacket with blue twills and jeans, but just wondering if I should scrap the light pants until summer. Of course I should. But...
Quick question to everyone who's had the cxl horse. Have you had any issues with the leather bleeding and if you have, how long does it last? Just wondering how long to not wear khakis with my jacket.
