Interesting suggestions Fanch. I really like the look of the Mulligan, but not sure I am BA enough for a black leather jacket, since I am kind of a hillbilly, but maybe the seal in Vicenza with an alpaca lining.
Thanks Bobj. It is cxl horse. Really stiff right now but softening faster than I thought it would. Amd the color is great. Seems to be a little different in different light.
I have to say, with the buttons I am glad I got the jacket when I am young...ish. if I had arthritis, it would never be buttoned. But they do seem to be easing up after a few days.
And that is a beautiful jacket Fanch. I love the grain in the goatskin.
It is strangly addictive isnt it?
And Ton, I think the lady next to me on the rrain is sniffing me also. Kinda weird, but she is cute so I am not saying anything
Thank you guys. I have to admit, I was really nervous but it is better than I had imagined it would turn out. But...now I am looking to see whats next.
I got my new Aero Maxwell at the end of last week and it's fantastic! Only a couple modifications to the design, which is a straight yoke on the back, straps on the cuffs like the Route 66, and no chest pocket.
I did have to shorten the arms, because, well, I seem to be built like Fred...
I think this is the one I had some years ago. It was tough. Made it through 3 machine washes, two dips in the pool, and one bulldog before I finally said goodbye.
Have you thought of possibly kangaroo or bison leather instead? They are quite durable, and not nearly as expensive.
But if you're looking at horse, take a look at Aero or Coronado. Coronado is expensive, Aero not so much but I don't know what shipping from Scotland would look like for it.
I can say, I ordered one originally that didn't fit, it was way too big. Carrie at Thurston was nice enough to let me trade it in on a 42. But the 44 was incredible. The fit was looser than I anticipated, especially in the FQHH, and I could actually move my arms in it. So I am really looking...
My Maxwell shipped last week so I will let you know when I get it as I tend to have the same issue with sleeves. The fit jacket seemed ok for me though. When I get it I can give you the dimensions if you want.
A 42 Maxwell in brown FQHH. I don't have it yet, but it will look exactly like the one that's on the Thurston Bros thread. To be honest, I can't wait. The one on their thread is so nice (I know, it's the one I messed up with). I hated the idea of not keeping it, but rather than keep it in my...
Thank you for the advice. I will work on the communication, as it's a work in progress.
As for the airing of grievances it definitely wasn't meant that way. But in hindsight I can see how it was taken that way. I didn't mean any disrespect to anyone. So Carrie, if you're reading, I do...
Thanks Monitor. I appreciate it.
And truly I really didn't mean anything, just saying, rather poorly, what didn't work for me.
On the plus side, I did get to see the materials and workmanship. Maybe it's not a plus since I am already looking at the Route 66 and I haven't even gotten my first...
Thank you Sockeye, that is very useful to hear. And I've already started looking at another Aero, which seems like I'm a junkie already. The workmanship on the first was incredible, especially compared to the mall jackets I was used to.
Noted. I think I may not have been clear. It wasn't really an issue with Carrie or Thurston Bros. I took it as the jackets were just made with different materials and that accounts for differences in the sizing, something maybe Aero directly would be able to speak to. Especially since I really...
