As the title says, I have one of these for sale. I have a bunch of jackets and just trying to slim down a bit.
This is a size 44, which means it'll easily fit a size 46. Check out the HPA website for sizing information.
It's in great shape, purchased second hand late last year and not really...
Splinter City at Sheppard AFB, TX.
There were wooden barracks that were used during the Korean War. I know that in the early 1980s, they were still using them for Airmen with the comment, "We'll be tearing these down any time now and putting up new barracks."
Meanwhile, in the 1990s, they...
A guy in my squadron used the nicotine patch. Said he did as directed and didn't have a problem. The only "craving" he got was first thing in the morning. He'd go out back on the porch and have coffee and a cigarette. After he quit, he kept thinking while he had his coffee, "Damn, I'm forgetting...
I'm selling my GW B-6, size 46. Bought this bad boy last year. Love it, but I have a B-10, a B-15, and a Marmot winter jacket. I really don't need the B-6, no matter how cool it is.
You know Goodwear jackets, you love Goodwear jackets. Quality is top notch. 'Nuff said.
Here's a link. This is...
Like what BlueTrain said; fire hazard. Better to wear nomex. At least that's what we were always led to believe. Plus, I'd rather drag along my nomex than my leather jacket. Less likely to be stolen plus I can wad up my nomex and stuff it in my backpack a lot easier.
Yep, AF issues leather flight jackets, usually when someone is qualified on their particular aircraft. I got mine after my initial check ride.
Nylon (Nomex) is still issued too. A lot of guys save their leather jackets when they're wearing blues, or when they're not flying that day. Some guys...

Just pimping the sale of my MA-1 in case anyone might be interested.
Now back to your regular scheduled MA-1 porn. :)
As the title says, I have a Skyline I need to move. I have way too many jackets and my wife is giving me the Big Eye. This is a solid jacket and a perfect for daily wear.
Looking to get $225 shipped CONUS for it. The cuffs and zip have been replaced. The zip is a modern Scovill (same as my...
I like it. I know my daughters would love the collar; it reminds me of my BR B-10 and they are always rubbing their face against it. "Dada, this is soft!"
You man want to shoot this question over to usmilitariaforum.com.
I'm betting that not only you'll get a quick answer, but pictures and documentation to boot!
EliasRDA: I did the same thing to a set of my BDUs before I went to AF Leadership School at Rhein Main. Cut off the pocket buttons and sewed the pockets down.
I knew of guys that had uniforms tailored for a better fit, but nothing made from scratch. This was mostly in Korea.
Yeah, it's enough to piss off the Pope. I didn't buy anything, but it was fun checking every day to see what he had on for sale. He was rocking some serious savings for some guys with what he had as the DoD.
Yeah, their 2015 run has no insignia. I think a lot of people complained about the initial run that had the shoulder roundel. I got one of the first ones with the insignia. My daughters (5 and 3) both love the fur collar.
It's not a bad jacket overall. I have a BR B-10 that I wear all the time.
Yeah, no surprise there. I was actually referring to former fliers. I don't think many, if any, still wear theirs after they are off flying status but still on AD. My friend got a commission and is now an Intel Captain. I told her about it and she was like, "wha? I'm not gonna wear mine!"
