    Captain America Jacket

I don't know who gave them or where they came from ( Aero UK, Aero USA, Insurrection or anyone else) ..... I just asked the question. Wether the MD of Aero had that authority to issue a free jacket, or the absent chairperson had to approve that, or wether staff could buy jackets at a discount...

    Alexander Leathers Leather?

didn't think you were Worf .... just responding to the comment that it didn't sound suitable for a jacket ... I think it will become a very fine Motorcycle jacket, just not sure I'd want to wear it to the office every day :D :D

    Alexander Leathers Leather?

Don't be fooled .. my Bison Detroit is breaking in nicely and is showing a ton of creasing and is softening beautifully. It's very grainy but ages like an old baseball glove. Alexanders also posted a pic of a 6 month old roadster on their facebook page ( I don't have the pic but \I think seb or...

    Alexander Leathers Leather?

There are both chrome tanned and veg tanned jackets which are well over 70 years old and still going strong ........ It's all down to the three details mentioned before : 1. Quality of hide 2. Quality of tanning 3. Quality of finishing then there is the quality of usage :D .... I...

    Captain America Jacket

Craig .. Ken wasn't even there when these jackets were done ! He was retired in the Highlands with the missus. The Foo's got there's during T in the park ( there were many pics of this on the Aero website ) .... Hugh got his sent to him in 2006/7 ??? while doing the last series of House (...

New Alexander Leathers Jacket ... I call it the "Adventurer" :)

See other threads but in Summary .... I have CXL HH from Aero Warhawk FQHH from Alexanders and Vintage Warhawk FQHH from Alexanders all are good ... the differences are subtle and much smaller than you'd think 1. Colour .... Alexanders and Aero Leathers are NOT the same colour / shade...

    Captain America Jacket

Daniel Craig and Hugh Lawrie paid for their Aeros ....... that's not what Hugh told me !!!!! I don't think they were paid to wear them but I know Hugh didn't buy his and neither did David Grohl buy his ...... those were VERY clever product placements by Aero Management. :D

    Alexander Leathers Leather?

CXL is a proprietry NAME used by Horween ... many tanneries combination tan hide ( especially for industrial applications ) .... not that many for jacket usage. Do not assume that just because a leather is "Only" chrome tanned it is inferior quality or " worse" than veg tanned or combination...

    Alexander Leathers Leather?

This is about Horween hides right ??? Warhawk is Combination Tanned ( Chrome and Veg Tanned) CXL in Chromexel ( which is combination tanned - Horween's premium jacket product) CT is Chrome Tanned Front Quarter Horsehide (FQHH) is the cut of horsehide ... whish is actually Horsehide...

    Dealing with "Buyers Remorse"

The world of the Leather Jacket buyer .... is a zero sum game. For every winner / keeper there is a loser / seller ..... I must have bought / sold 100's ( might even need another zero on that) of jackets in my 30 years collecting some amazing bargains for pennies ... others I've dropped a pile...

New Alexander Leathers Jacket ... I call it the "Adventurer" :)

Thanks Guys for the feedback and comments ..... you're right I really like this jacket, it's the first in a long time which I have truely believed could replace my Californian as my go to jacket. Cheers .... PL

NEW Alexander Leathers Detroit in Horween Bison - PIC HEAVY

No worries Greg .. as I said to another poster on another thread ... "if we all liked the same thing then it would be a very boring world to live in !" The bison is REALLY grainy and not to every taste ..... but it is exceptional hide ( as one would expect from Horween ) not as tough and...

    Breaking in an ELC Irvin?

Mine was always a bit unweildy .. the fleece was soft and pliable enough but there just seemed to be too much of it under the arms ... it was the same on the B-3. As others have suggested give the fleece time to compact and shape to you .... best of luck with it.

New Alexander Leathers Jacket ... I call it the "Adventurer" :)

It's an identical construction to both the side straps on my Californian ... which is 12 years old and has done over a million air miles without any ill effects :D ..... there's no real stress on it, probabl;y just the way I've taken the picture. Either way it's difficult to see how the strap...

New Alexander Leathers Jacket ... I call it the "Adventurer" :)

It's regular Halfbelt length Schitzo .... this is how I want/like a halfbelt to sit, not Insurrection short, as has been discussed many times (I'm not sure this isn't a style thing rather than a function thing). The halfbelt sits on my natural waist ( actually this is about an inch higher than...

    Good Watch Cap Repro?

as mentioned before got one of each ( Black and Olive) almost 2 years ago (£5.95 posted in the UK) ... they are awesome and practically indestructible .. only four panel but with the right weave and weft pattern and a GREAT fit. For this sort of money they're almost disposable :D :D :D
