It's arrived ( amazing turnaround by Alexanders .. and Edith makes a mean jacket ) .. I love it ( and I guess that's all that matters really ) but I thought you guys would like to see it :) Straight out of the box it's a little stiff but should soften nicely with wear. I spoke to Derek about these many moons ago and they seem to be proprietry to Lewis Leathers .... they are a great design though ..... but I could only find similar in nickel and as per the original post didn't want nickel hardware. I think any prongless buckle which doubles back is fairly...- Plumbline

Dinerman ... GREAT pics .... and an amazing array and variations on the theme. Agreed on the serrated "teeth" ... most of the prongless buckles I've seen on vintage jackets have had a serrated edge which makes them "firmer". Good to know Schizo ... I just never got on with the two I had ( albeit on old bike jackets) Re. the prong thing .. the summary is this ... do you get a buckle like a belt buckle which needs holes in the strap to fasten ( pronged) ... a bar buckle ( like on an ANJ-4 ) where the strap goes...- Plumbline

Good Watch Cap Repro?
The Bushcraftstore one is 100% wool and ( allegedly) a genuine issue item ... now it may not be 1940's issue ... but it's a fine hat and nice and warm, well made, fairly robust and doesn't appear to be any the worse for wear after a couple of winters and a few summers in the boot of my car :D... -
Real McCoys Buco J-100 / LVC Buco
cool jackets ( both of them ) te RMC is truely a work of art and up there in the motorcycle repro arena and on a par IMHO with JC's reproduction A-2's in the flight jacket arena. Anyone recommend Loakes burfords or bedales?
Great shoes and much more "wearable" than Trickers ... which can be a bit "clunky" ( read big, cumbersome and a tad heavy especially on the double sole format) .... Loake 771 Derby shoes are amongst the finest and longest lasting shoes made I've got a pair which are 27 years old and still going...- Plumbline

It's REALLY nice .... :D Very close to CXL in terms of finish but a little duller and with a little more grain ( just as described by those who know this stuff ) a bit more supple than CXL and a little lighter in weight ( but it's marginal) it's obviously got some oil content as when you...- Plumbline

On a half serious note ..... I think a big chunk in the North is ..... and it labels accordingly ( I had a motorcycle jacket custom made 20 years ago just outside Belfast and it's labeled Made in Britain and has a Union Jack on the label) :D- Plumbline
