I’d be like that without front pockets in my jeans. Anyway, it’s been listed for a while and the seller is very open to offers if you change your mind. I think you could probably get it for $100 shipped. Not really my style, but I’m still tempted because it’s cool and a great deal.
My two cents: Front button Hooch Hauler. Slim/Ridley style simplified cross zip (this is a very slim pattern), Rockafella (a bit more hourglass but would still work for you, though the lapels aren’t for everyone so 20s work coat if so). Another possibility would be a Cossack jacket.

I really like the Maxwell, but I’m not sure the pattern will work for you - may have similar issues.
How about a button front Hooch Hauler? @Canuck Panda has one and it is stunning!!
The biggest issue I see with that Dustbowl is that the shoulders are too wide and the sleeves also wide - there’s just way too much excess leather hanging off you at the back.
I think a well fitted Hooch Hauler will look stunning on you. Also matches the whole vintage western vibe you’ve got...
Getting back to the OP, I’ll say something positive about SB:
Wide selection of hides available and some interesting ones you won’t find at other places.
Less ethical customs declarations - they will undervalue their product so you don’t pay any import duties.
Aero, well, I have nothing but...
Both mine were ordered direct. I’m pretty confident in my body measurements and know what to ask about patterns now. I exchanged a lot of emails with the jacket maker and the sales/production folks.
I agree with this. My FL was a fantastic fit, but I was still learning about what I liked and wanted. Better to try stuff out and experiment with other brands before moving up to FL.
If you don’t like the D pocket then order it without. Aero let you do a LOT of customisation to get exactly what you want.
Start by focusing on the overall shape of the patterns that you like before honing in on details like pocket shape.
A tale of three Scots:
SB used to be the budget option but aren’t even that anymore. I ordered a Pacific and had to return it. If this is a ‘forever’ jacket, then go with Aero and don’t waste time with the knock-offs. Or you could look at Field, for a high quality alternative.
Anyway, it sounds like you are might be...
This does not sound like a good way to size. For example, @Marc mndt and I are the same height and weight. His chest is 42 and mine is 38 and I’m sure there are some other significant differences.
Not jeans, but I ordered these:

I paid an extra $50 for custom, to get the opening increased by an inch (to 9.5”). They should arrive next week.
Looks good. Take that happy knowledge and close your TFL account now before you sell this jacket and thrown $10k at evermore expensive niche custom jackets seeking that elusive grail fit. :)
Agreed that Vicenza is one of the best do-everyone first good jacket hides. It creases and ages beautifully. I also like that it isn’t too shiny. It feels substantial but doesn’t need to be broken in and doesn’t bruise the wearer. The blackened brown has the bonus of ‘tea core’ fading, though...
Cross-posting from WAYW in case it’s useful for someone in the future. This is day one of light wear, after wetting the the arms a little and shaping the collar and lapels. Fits like a glove! This is going to age beautifully, like Mr Proper’s.
