*a large, gray, evil-looking machine lurches into the midnight sky and starts for Kilroy's location*

My guard had fallen asleep, I snuck out rhe back of the aerodome. A cab pulled up and I got in."To the docks and make it snappy".

By the time the cab had started to move it went all kinds of directions! How was I getting out of this one? Maybe that pilot would save me? Nah! Or Teekay44? Nah! I opened the door and out an rolled in to an abandoned wearhouse.

*door slams shut and locks, lights go out and a crash of metal hitting floor is heard*

Oops, Kilroy isn't going to like his Spitfire getting a little more bent... oh well, it'll be a quick fix.

*a large, gray shape of indescribably evil sound and appearance descends into view*

No, it's not you at all--seems your black-marketer boyfriend has gotten involved with some very nasty people, and if you and he are to get out of this, we'll have to work together.

I know you won't believe me at first, I wouldn't believe me either. That big gray thing I just hopped out of? Won't make its first flight for another forty years. Look at my ID--you'll see I haven't even been born yet, and won't be for almost four decades.

Anyway, seems somehow your guy has fallen in with some serious nasties from my time, who I was sent back here to deal with. One-way trip, I can't go home--too much back-and-forth across space-time means one more temporal displacement could literally tear me apart...

I'd also ask you to consider if I meant you harm, I've had multiple opportunities to dispatch you, and in all except this one, I've allowed you to escape... Seems to me I've done you a favor in breaking my "take no prisoners, leave no survivors" rule...

Actually, you can--by getting me into the situation with a cover of "a hired gun".

Just say you were being stalked, so you hired a gunslinger as a bodyguard... once I've gotten past their defenses, I'll take care of the rest.

Has he been anywhere with large electrical equipment lately, perchance? Temporal displacement requires a lot of juice to keep a portal open...

Teekay doesn't know the full extent of what he's involved in, none of you do, and neither do I--the longer we take, the more the timeline becomes corrupted, and the more cleanup we in Temporal Enforcement have to do.

A stiff drink usually does help one to cope when they're first introduced to the concepts of time travel...

Gin or vodka, shaken or stirred? Preferred garnish for that martini?
