I say, is it that time yet?

What ho! I've been in the mess with my Squadron buddies Pete Moss, Justin Thyme and our batmen Lo Phat and Hey Yu and didn't realize the time. Hope I haven't put up a "black" by missing anything. Carter, DB and Zaika, are you there? Or have I missed the train?:eusa_doh:

Well, I have a "show" in the morning...

...with an oh-dark-thirty take off time, so I'll bid you adieu for this evening. Hey Yu keeps giving me dirty looks for being up so late (eight hours from bottle to throttle - I keep telling him "No, it's eight inches from bottle to throttle"), so I think I shall turn in. Be sure to look both ways before crossing the train tracks. Cheerio!:D

woo hoo!

As stood in the barn with my boyfriend and bid goodbye. I thought how I needed to get moiving to catch the seven-ten train if I were to go through with the plan. My boss said all it would take was one black of TNT. I doubted I could go through with it.

OMG! Carter, DB and Zaika! The saboteur has dynamite and is going to blow the train! DB, if you're in the air, see if you can spot the cabooses! I have no idea where they might be now. I'm in my Spitfire right now, and everything looks like ants down there. Wait a minute, they are ants. I haven't taken off yet!

Okay, I just saw someone planting some explosives--where's my Pave Low when I need it?

Besides, what good is demoing the rails if I've already whacked the engine?

Hmmm, simple dynamite... basic EOD 101-class stuff here...

*clips wires and separates detonator from explosives*

Hmmm, this charge smells like... perfume? And is that a trace of fingernail polish? So it would appear we're dealing with a dynamite dame...

Looks like I may have to make an exception... usual policy is "take no prisoners, leave neither survivors nor evidence."

Kilroy, get out of there!

If you try to crank it again, it'll blow--usually first two arm a car-bomb (or plane-bomb, in your case), third detonates it...

I know my chopper's safe, 'cause it's still airborne--got zipline?

*climbs up line to chopper and heads for Kilroy's airstrip*

I can't seem to get this kite started. My good old Spitfire's Merlin just won't spring to life. A few pumps on the primer....hit the switch... *cough, cough, cough*, then silence, just that eerie ticking noise eminating from the cowling. Wait! Did she also plant some TNT on my aeroplane?!
I quickly got out of the cockpit and summoned my crew chief, "Skid" Marx, and with the help of my wingman Pete Moss we pulled the cowling. The ticking noise was an alarm clock, very odd. Who would have placed that in my Spitfire? That wouldn't be the reason for it not starting however. Hmmm...looking at the magnetos, they look okay, the leads are all in place. Hmmm, wait, what's this?!? A grapefruit has been shoved into the carburetor intake!
Now, that's awfully fishy, our saboteur hails from the sunshine state of Florida. Was she trying to buy extra time by keeping me on the ground?

Well, it didn't work--she's not getting her trainwreck with it stopped with no engine... and I needed to swap choppers anyway--this one's about had it...

"Blackout, rendezvous at coordinates..."

Heavy air should be here in a few minutes, guys...
She was foiled this time, but we still didn't catch her. She slipped away, perhaps to do mayhem aboard a southbound train in her home state of Florida. Hmmm, southbound train...sounds like a good title for a song, in my opinion.

Well, my Squadron has received stand down orders for the evening...

...as we have a 0330 briefing for a mission in the morning. Cheerio, chaps, see you next time. I'll have a new Spitfire Mk. XIV by then, so maybe I'll be able to get my silly kite started. We're switching over to them now.

This mission in the morning is supposed to be hush-hush, but I understand we're going to be escorting a new Burt Rutan-designed bomber...

That's obvoiusly disinformation, there is no way an aircraft built like that obviously-altered photo could actually fly--center of lift vs. center of gravity alone would see to that! It's about as likely as Blackout (my other chopper) transforming into the killer robot he thinks he was in a past life...lol

*melodramatic organ music playing in backbround* So, what is the truth?

[music=The X-Files them] The truth is out there, somewhere...[/music]

Kilroy, the reason it's obviously a cover is that an aircraft's centers of lift and gravity must be the same, whether it be done with ballast or by shifting fuel between tanks. That bird's C/L is way too far back for its CG to be anywhere even remotely close to flyable... I've been doing some design-work on a heavy myself, and controlling the CG versus the center of thrust for a vertical-lift is downright ugly... and that's with a million pounds of thrust for the push-up! {OOC: You're involved in an air museum IIRC, so most of this is for audience benefit. Audience, pay no attention to anything between thes parentheses, or that little man behind the curtain...lol}

Unless it's got some kind of antigrav unit, and then why would it need any wings at all except little stubs for the engines?

The opposition isn't supposed to know that! They are supposed to think we'll be sending swarms of four-engined Long E-Zs at them!
