What's for Dinner?

Just put an English cut roast in the crock-pot with carrots, onions, garlic and guinness. Will make some mashed potatos later to go under the gravy.
It did take a turn for the cooler,Matt. Veggie soup sounds good too, but I've already thawed the meat.

I have stew meat in the freezer, but I don't have a soup eater next to me.
I get the stew meat and marinate it for fajitas.
While I'd love is to make chili, again I don't have one of those eaters in the house either.
See, she grew up in a household that didn't cook a large variety of meals, because the cook didn't care to do much more than watch tv.
So when she (my wife) got old enough, she started going to DQ.
30yrs later she is undoing what DQ did to her, but still doesn't have a palate for soup and chili.
I grew up on both because they were cheap to make, and my father was good at making them.

One of my wife's favourite quick meals is an all day breakfast in a croissant. Something like this:

Burger_King_DOUBLE_CROISSANWICH_w_Bacon_Egg__Cheese_755271_i0.jpg

All the talk of bacon and of health nuts and such like, I looked up the nutritional aspect of this meal.
Croissant: High in salt, cholesterol and saturated fat.
Bacon: High in salt, cholesterol and saturated fat. It also reduces sperm count.
Cheese: Don't go there.
Eggs: Ditto.

It's no good, I shall just have to give it up, much as I enjoy it.
Reading really is bad for my health.

I agree, 156 people is a small sample.
James Powers says bacon is good for the whole body and soul.
Would he lie to push an agenda like world bacon domination?
I think not. :D
GHT, my wife and I used to eat the Jimmy Dean version of a McDonalds egg Mcmuffin.
But they are horribly unhealthy for you.
So we made our own.
We bought an egg poaching pan, that holds 6 egg whites (or regular if you want).
Then we cooked turkey sausage, and used Thomas muffins.
The salt was much lower, the cholesterol was much lower, and it was better for us.
Now that we are low carb, we don't do that because we can't have the muffin.

Tonight it's homemade chili, I managed to talk the wife into it.
With pinto beans due to the carb count.

That study was ridiculous! I have never seen such a bold, outrageous, agenda-driven study in my life. Sure, just make younger guys scared of eating bacon. Next thing will be The Bacon Will Make You Impotent study. Riiiigghhhhttt.....

Ever made low carb English muffins or an oopsie roll?
