An unlined Royal Deluxe Stetson heather. I replaced the felted braid with a nice grosgrain.

Nice hats being shown this morning !! Here's my contribution for today.
Mayser Pierre. in black with tone on tone brim edge binding and ribbon with a backbow treatment. Not everyone's cup of tea, but I'm trying to fill my collection with all sorts of different hatmakers and styles that appeal to me.
*honestly, I rarely wear this one but it looks cool hanging on my wall.lol.

Probably what Walden Pond (in Massachusetts) looked liked long ago, Nathan. We’re really lucky to be on a somewhat remote pond in Vermont. There’s quite a bit of Nature Conservancy-owned land here, which helps maintain the natural scene.

Walden is actually quite nice. I was able to sneak an overnight stay there a few years back and had a really peaceful experience. One of my favorite spots in the US, so I can imagine the magic of your Vermont pond.

Did you run into the boys who will do anything for a buck, Larry, Daryl and Daryl? (Lol - I just started watching Newhart… great show!).

Today I played with the idea of taking the JBS 25 to SE Asia instead of the FED IV. After all, the 25 is a beater…. just a very high quality one. And the difference in the two hats is night and day: the Akubra feels like a toy next to the 25.

But the biggest concern in SE Asia is actually mildew - it can be difficult to avoid in Thailand particularly and if it got in my 25 I would be upset.

Better to stick to one that can be replaced.

I will miss my 25. It is such a great hat

Except for when you show up.
But I don't go for any UN-natural stuff...
