A much delayed trip to our favorite Hatter in Eugene today... I have not been able to drive long trips due to my back surgery, so a beautiful Ecuadorian straw has been waiting to be picked up. Now it will have to wait until spring for it's debut. Wearing my early 1950s Borsalino Featherweight (Via @moontheloon) for some show and tell with Mike Miller. Looking forward to the trip.
Yesterday was both disappointing and a relief of stress. The pins in my hand need more time to knit the fracture. There was some shattering of the bone, so I guess that is the reason. So I'm all trussed up until the 30th. Since they were just going to yank them out, I was kind of dreading this appointment.

SO nice, Mike. If you could only have one, that would be the hat!

Well, last night I stayed up late working on hats ... on a work day night! Payed for it today.
I’m converting a black Resistol western into either an Indie or more likely a fedora/Western blend. Cut the brim down, did a Roy Rogers shower reshape and now I have to sew on a black two inch ribbon and bow.
I also showered a Seventies ten X Stetson OR and put in a diamond crease. Man! Those late model cattleman’s creases are
Dang near impossible to turn, But finally got this steer to heal over!

Here’s a Champ fedora I wore today that I changed the ribbon on. The old one was thin, worn, sweat stained... and ugly. This new one inch ribbon and bow looks much nicer. I think it’s a sixties model.

Tonight I’m going to bed early. I’m tired.[emoji16]

You do good work. They look great. Get some rest. I know it can be tempting to stay up late and tinker with your hats.

Great colour, shape, ribbon, brim, and bash. The autumnal lighting was the perfect choice to highlight the qualies of that Gannon, Greg.

Thank you, Steve. It's hard to photograph the charcoal w/o it looking black. I lucked out on the lighting. Picked up some violet hues from the hat.

Wasn't that a Silverbelly until the BBQ accident?

Are you inferring that the majority of my hats are SB?

Very nice, Greg! You even have a little ribbon showing on that one. Gannon does make great hat.

Thank you, Reggie. Not all of mine are thinnies. He does make a great hat. I know that cap and jacket kept you dry. Great look for you.

Love that charcoal Gannon, Bamaboots!
Looks good on you,as well.

Thank you, sir. Enjoyed looking at your re-works a moment ago. Good job on them all. Takes some perseverance to change out a modern Stetson. I especially like the ribbon change on the Champ. Mid ribbon suits it well.

40s Champ that needed deep cleaning with vinegar and then a gas bath. The liner took a good soaking and whitened up a bit, the black marker faded a little, but so did the crest, but i really love a pleated liner.

Some mothing, sweat stiches are popping, but this hat has charm. Wide, 2.75" brim with a lower crown than i usually like but that's ok too. This one has grown on me.
