this is what i wore last night to my friends birthday party.
The suit is a recent ebay purchase, the gloves are from camden market and the shoes were a charity shop find.

I don't usually comment on the ladies' outfits, not because I don't admire each and every one of you :), but because I have no expertise in the area -- no real feel for it. But I must admit, this looks absolutely smashing!

My church canceled here in Wisconsin, too.

My, this is a day of great outfits even if of bad weather. I think this is a tremendous look!

Blizzard in progress...Even the huge Fox River Mall here in Appleton shut down for the day -- commerce has ground to a halt! I did manage to have my usual Sunday morning coffee at Atlanta Bread Company and my "naked burrito" lunch at Qdoba (yum), but most stores are closed.

Vintage Brooks Bros. SB 3B single-vent tan camelhair sportcoat
Marshall Field's Field Gear black cuffed chinos with slightly wide leg opening
Jos. A. Bank white button-down, open neck, crisp white tee underneath
Lord & Taylor dark green sweater-vest
Ashear multi-color pocket square, puff fold, black mainly visible
Vintage trout fly in left lapel
Black jeans belt
Swiss Army watch with black band (right wrist)
Polished stainless steel link bracelet (left wrist)
Black boot socks
LL Bean 6-eyelet duck boots, tan uppers
Stanley Blacker tan wool/cashmere SB topcoat
Brown leather gloves
Pendleton dark green plaid wool scarf
Vintage David Hanna (Donegal Town, Ireland) speckled brown tweed newsboy cap

Thanks Patrick.

As always, that outfit sounds great, especially the newsboy cap.

The cap, which I bought in an Irish goods shop in Seattle in 1980, is the garment I've owned the longest, and it's incredibly special to me. Also amazingly durable -- it looks inside and out like I bought it yesterday. And I wear it all the time -- no saving for special occasions, it's a workhorse. Real craftsmanship there!

Me looking rather angry today at a restaurant on the way home. I think I look this way because I was trying to eat, and didn't want a camera in my face.

Swiss overcoat
green mountain hardwear shirt
black slacks

Very well done -- nice balance, nice proportions. I'm a fan of the socks, as well. Who's the suit by?

Thanks. The suit's an old Brooks Brothers. The tie is wool herringbone from Land's End. The socks are wool made by some Italian brand at TJ Maxx.

This is one of my favorite threads on the Lounge. I've been remiss in leaving individual comments but everybody looks great. I especially like SSB's striped socks. I've always wanted a pair of those--I may have to break down and get them .

get them, get them!!! sock-it-to-me socks are comfortable, generous in the calf (you can't tell, but i have enormous calves), keep your legs warm, and long-lasting! i've had some of my pairs for 2 years now. they're really worth the money.
