Not sure who he resembles, besides that he resembles handsome.

EDIT: I do see a resemblance...

I'm not sure if there's a resemblance, but I'd take either one! lol

Nothing wrong with that! :)

Tonight:

White braces (supra)
Black bow -- Charleston Bows, naturally!
Black formal slippers

What is with all these formal events in Charleston? Is it a city untouched by time?

I know it's a bit different from usual, and since all but one class was cancelled, and I swore I'd stay away from the shop for the day (lol), it was a casual one.

Denim button front shirt, heavy heavy wash / worn, by J. Campbell
Cream cotton henley, unknown
Vintage, flat front cotton trousers, stone-ish color, unknown

Yes, pretty much. If you look hard enough, you can make at least two black ties a month! It's fun, lol

What waist covering are you wearing? Or is the jacket double breasted?

The jacket is a one button peak. This time I went Bond style, sans cummerbund or vest. Typically, I sport a cummerbund or vest, but I've been a bit minimalist with black tie lately.

Today we went to dinner and to see "Meet Me in Saint Louis" at a local movie theatre to celebrate Valentine's Day. Here's what I wore:
1. A Dark Navy Blue suit with burgandy and tan overcheck, with a tag that says it was tailored for Van Horn's, a Detroit store that has apparently gone out of business since this suit was made. (Thrift store)
2. Blue, stripped Tommy Hillfigger french cuff shirt
3. Cheap, (but pretty nice) plain silver cufflinks
4. Burgandy tie with leaf and paisley motif (Thrift store)
5. Light bluish/gray pocket square
6. Brown pork pie
7. Brown Croft & Barrow cap toe shoes.

If you look at the cufflink in this picture, you can see my tie reflected in it:

Too cool, LindyTap! You look like you walked right out of a Marlowe story -- I really like the links, and the tie is great. Nice suit fabric, too!

its a jacket with a matching dress underneath.

i've no idea when it dates from either.
it was listed as WWII on ebay but i'm not sure.
