Wows around! Everyone has acquired some true gems lately!

Recently I was home in Chicago, moving my Grandmum into a nursing home. It's so conflicting and odd to pack up and go through her house, but so much of her stuff has deep meaning for me and there's a part of me that is truly happy to be getting some of her things, despite the sad and conflicting nature of the situation.

Depressing subjects aside, being given these items makes me feel much closer to my family and my history, like I'm more actively partaking in something I've observed and admired for so long.

Here are a few things my Mom gave to me when we packed up last week:

My siblings and I also were given some tiny, etched juice glasses we used to drink out of as children, which mean a lot. And my Grandfather's fountain pen might have fallen into my purse too. Erm... yes... 'fallen' into.

How wonderful for you that you have inherited those lovely things! They will always connect you to your family and will come to mean even more as the years go by. I am thrilled fo you!

Thanks! Nope, the birds are modern plastic and the flowers, while vintage, I believe are just celluloid. The seller's name on etsy is geelizzie and she has several more necklaces like that one!

Oh my goodness, seeing this big bra on that tiny mannequin reminded me of the other night! My 13 year old, bless her soul, was sick last week and was going to sleep with me in my room. The bra I had just bought was on my bed and for some insane reason, she decided to put it on her head and let me know that my bust was larger than her face. lol Sorry, it was hilarous.

Last thing for awhile I promise...I just got this on thee bay...vintage Lane Bryant, original belt, one button loose, otherwise in what appears to be excellent condition. Yes, under $20.

The measurements are listed as 20" bust, 13"-17" across front of waist, 24" across hips. Doesn't seem too plus sized to me. I'll take it!

lol I know how you feel, one time the wiring to my bra came out while I was at work, and it was poking me so I pulled it out and put it over my head like a head band, except it was to big to fit my head. The ladies thought it was hilariouslol

congrats to all who have recently found Etsy. i thought i was a bad ebayer until i started buying from etsy... don't even get me started on the fabulous hand-made items i've gotten!

(if anyone needs any recommendations though, lemme know... i have SO much stuff on my favorites list, and for those of you who are new to etsy, i know my way around pretty well!)
