But I made things!

This is a set of lingerie bags I embroidered (yes, but hand) and made for the lovely Miss Queenie, who has consented to having me show them.....

The bigger one is about 12 inches across and 6 up and down....

The color is actually a soft green...and while some of the flowers seem very sparkly and spotty...its just the shine of the floss, which is the extra shiny kind.

There is another set, which I will show later if the recipient approves.

I love these. I wanted to learn how to embroider ( is that how you write it/ call it) for a long time now, but I don't know where to start. Since you are obviously good at it, do you got any tips? Teach me, please!!!!

I have been doing embroidery since i was 6, my aunt taught me some basic stitches,a nd i feel in love with it.it's a craft that you can do anywhere, and it doesn't have to be expensive.I have a few books that i have just found at yard sales that will teach you the basics, but here is an online site that teaches the stitches as well.If you have any questions, feel free to ask, either here or PM me.Always glad to help.

wooo...Thanks Olive...this is way more comprehensive then I would have found to post.

and yes...the bags above were all done with basic stitches...nothing at all that would even qualify as intermediate...

its just practicing...

tea towels are another great practice piece...since you use them in the kitchen and they get worn out anyhow...it doesnt -matter- if they arnt perfect.....I know that Wal Mart, Bed Bath and Beyond etc...sell packs of the towels...

Wow Miss Neecerie, you do lovely embroidery!! I've been wanting to get into stitching crafts, but I am consumed with crocheting at the moment and I have a long list of presents, both birthday and christmas to do first.. ahh.. so little time...

here is my latest endeavor... Amigurumi
I made a little bear for my daughter, and a dog for my brother. Apparently I suck at working in rounds, and consistently lose my place. I have since found a way to keep my place using a safety pin and a little note pad and pencil.
Anyhow, they come out a little lopsided, but the recipients think it adds to their charm. Now I am being asked for *less than perfect* ones. lol my little blems

i made this for keeping my bills, bank statements...after seeing one from the 40's in a fashion fair, having some fabric leftover i decided to give it a go.

i used a gift paper bag for the inside wrap

though they do make very cute presents too, .....which thinking about it would be another great way to save money on christmas presents as well as the large number of birthdays I have coming up. Particularly as I have rather a tight purse at the mo.

I used a pattern I found in an Amigurumi book. Barnes and Noble has a good assortment of Amigurumi books. Borders, not so much. You can also find some free ones and other ones on the web!
